Onboard memory in the Samsung Genio Pro caps at 150 MB with phonebook capacity of up to 1,000 contact entries with photocall capability. It is expandable to 16 GB from its microSD slot. Talk times on 2G is a generous 8 hours with 23 days of standby time from its standard 960 mAh li-ion battery when fully charged.
Sporting the full-QWERTY side slider form factor, the Genio PRO is also a touchscreen that essentially forms the top of the Corby line. Together with its tactile QWERTY keyboard, the handset is targeted to heavy texters, both parents and their teens and pretty much to everyone else who needs the mobile phone basics and a reasonably generous sampling of what the upscale feature phones have but without closing bank accounts.
Measuring 105 x 56.8 x 15.7mm and weighing a hefty 135g, it even makes a pitch to the fashionistas with interchangeable back covers that Samsung refers to as Fashion jackets. They come in white, black and Red.

The Genio Pro is a notch or two above your entry level QWERTY sliders as it gets 3G on the dual band UMTS with HSDPA at 7.2 Mbps data connectivity speeds for fast internet access. It’s also a quad band GSM (850/900/1800/1900) for international roaming on the 2G network with class 10 GPRS/EDGE speeds.
There’s also WiFi 802.11b/g for hotspot surfing as well as local high speeds data connectivity support for Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP and microUSB 2.0. There’s SatNav as well with its built-in GPS receiver supporting A-GPS.
Its display gets a remarkable 2.8-inch TFT LCD resistive touchscreen with QVGA resolution and 16 million colors. It comes with a gravity accelerometer support for auto rotate landscape or portrait viewing convenience based on handset title.
You get a fixed focus digicam with an average 3.2-megapixel resolution that comes with smiles detection and geo tagging courtesy of its GPS SatNav functionality. QVGA video recording is supported at a maximum 15fps frame rate ad has. There’s also a front facing secondary video call camera.
Multimedia gets a stereo FM receiver with RDS and capable media playback support for a limited set of audio files like MP3/AAC and WMA while video get DivX support only. Its entertainment rounds off with a 3.5mm headphone hack for wired stereo listening and wireless listening using its A2DP profile support on Bluetooth.
