The Genio Slide is a 3G QWERTY slider phone on the dual band UMTS with HDSPA at 5.2 Mbps for high speed internet downloading. It also gets international roaming abilities with a quad band GSM radio with Class 10 GPRS/EDG data connectivity on 2G. You get hotspot internet surfing support with WiFi 802.11b/g and local data connectivity with Bluetooth 2.1 and microUSB 2.0 from wireless and wired data transfers, respectively. There’s a built-in GPS receiver for SatNav functionality with A-GPS support.

Its elegantly styled QWERTY slider body weighs 135g and measures a rather bulky 105 x 56.8 x 15.7 mm. It comes with a less than average 2.8-inch resistive touchscreen with QVGA resolution and 16 million colors.

There’s also the indispensable gravity accelerometer for auto-rotate landscape or portrait viewing based on handset tilt. Its digicam gets a 3 megapixel resolution with fixed focal length focusing, smile detection and QVGA video recording at 15fps. Images shot from the handset can be geo-tagged using its built-in GPS.

Multimedia on the Samsung Genio Slide B5310 gets stereo FM radio with RDS on top of its competent media players for MP3/AAC audio codecs and DivX/WMA video. Stereo listening offers a choice of using wired regular headsets plugged to its 3.5mm headphone jack or use wireless stereo headsets using its Bluetooth A2DP support.
