The Samsung S5150 Olivia is a glamorous mobile phone, part of the 2010 collection of Samsung phones designed especially for women.

The Design

Also known as the Samsung S5150 Diva Folder and Samsung Le Fleur S5150, the Samsung S5150 Olivia phone projects style. It is a clamshell mobile with a quilted pattern on its exterior in a silvery grey and reflective material. If you want to turn people’s heads and make a statement with your mobile phone, you will love the look of the Samsung S5150.

The Samsung S5150 has two display screens – the main one which measures 2.2 inches and a hidden screen in the phone’s exterior which lights up for incoming calls or for showing the clock. The hidden external screen is a nice touch as it allows you to see who is calling or check the name without having to flip the phone open.

Perfect for taking with you during the day or to add glamour to a night out, the Samsung S5150 is compact and weighs 83g. You can easily keep the phone in your handbag or pocket. When it is flipped open, the keypad is flat but all the keys are large and well spaced so dialling is comfortable.

Specifications

Part of the Samsung Diva Collection of mobile phones for 2010 which includes the Samsung S7070, the Samsung S5150 is a straightforward phone in terms of technology. Despite its cutting-edge design, it is not a smartphone and cannot rival the likes of the Palm Pre or iPhone 3G S when it comes to functionality.

The Samsung S5150 Olivia can, however, boast a number of user-friendly features. The mobile supports text messaging, picture messaging and email. You can also add multiple email accounts to your phone, so staying in touch with friends and family is effortless. With Bluetooth and microUSB connectivity options, you will also be able to share any photos you take on the mobile’s inbuilt 3.15-megapixel camera.

You can enjoy music and games on the Samsung S5150, and its support for Java means you can download further games or applications such as Gmail onto your phone. The display allows you to customise how your phone looks, and you can place your favourite 15 applications into the shortcut bar on the main home screen for quick access.

Considerations

The Samsung S5150 Olivia does not support 3G or Wi-Fi connectivity.

A compact, glamorous and image-conscious mobile phone – if you want a user-friendly phone with limited functionality (compared to the smartphones on the market), which looks great – the Samsung S5150 Olivia is for you.
