This phone augments the Diva product line. It is also known as Olivia and the La Fleur in other markets and carries a distinctly feminine touch in a gray clamshell body styling. Samsung is pitching the Diva to young ladies and housewives asserting their gender identity with affordable fashion mobile phones that define their unique place in society.

Sporting a traditional clamshell form factor on a body that measures 94.0 x 47.0 x 17.4 mm when closed and weighs a light 82.8 grams, the Diva makes an elegant statement right inside and outside a ladies’ pocket or handbag.

Under its skin is a tri band GSM (900/1800/1900) radio with class 12 GPRS/EDGE data connectivity on 2G. As an entry level handset, don’t expect WiFi or 3G but it still comes with the usual high speed local data transfer and synchronization with its wireless Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR and wired microUSB 2.0 capability.

Like most clamshell designs, it gets a 2.2-inch TFT LCD display with QVGA resolution and 16 million colors with a secondary hidden LED display when closed. And for a budget phone, you get a remarkable 3.2 megapixel autofocus camera with QVGA recording with unspecified frame rates.

The Samsung S5150 Diva is no smartphone but uses the TouchWiz UI enhanced by Samsung to look quite feminine and comes preloaded with a Wish List application that keeps tab of your shopping history and tracks your next items on the list. There’s an “etiquette mode” that automatically silences the handset when in a social gathering. And as social networking handset, it gets a set of icons for instant access to your IM and SNS like Facebook and Twitter.
