The Samsung S5200 is a fashionable, ultra-slim slider phone which houses some user-friendly features.

The Design

The two colours that make up the case of the Samsung S5200 complement each other and add a sense of vibrancy to the phone. You can choose between black and blue, and black and red – the blue and red colour the keypad, leaving a visible strip at the bottom of the phone when the slider is shut.

Everything about the design of the Samsung S5200 is user-friendly. The slider is slim and can easily fit into your pocket or handbag. The 97g weight means you can feel it in the palm of your hand as you make a call or text a friend, feeling solid without feeling heavy. The 2.2 inch screen is a decent size for a slider phone and features a 16 million colour display for clear icons and images.

Navigating the features of the Samsung S5200 is enjoyable thanks to the smooth mechanism of the slider, which opens with the nudge of your thumb. Once open, the numerical keypad is revealed. As the main keys are on the top of the mobile, you can access the menu and make various selections such as the music player or camera, without needing to open the slider.

Similar to the Samsung U600, the Samsung S5200 is predominantly a fashion phone – it looks good and is fun to handle. However, in addition to style, the phone also offers you a quality music player and camera.

The inbuilt music player has DNSe (Digital Natural Sound Engine) so the sound of your songs is reproduced accurately. You can manage your music collection, arranging tracks according to artist, album or genre. For listening variety, the FM radio with RDS, which allows you to read station information along with hearing the music, provides this.

The camera on the Samsung S5200 lets you capture moments with a sharpness and brightness thanks to a combination of its 3.2-megapixels, LED flash and autofocus. The mobile also has Smile shot technology so photos will only be taken when your subject is smiling. There is a landscape option which lets you photo a complete panorama through a series of pictures which the camera automatically sews together.  

The Samsung S5200 has a document viewer integrated which is useful for work or personal reasons as you can open Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents as well as PDFs. This is particularly good as it means you can open documents which are sent to you via email, on the move. Other communication options include text message and multimedia messaging.

For added security, the Samsung S5200 has a Fake Call feature which helps you escape a situation you don’t want to be in and the SOS message option lets you send a predetermined distress message.

There is no 3G support on the Samsung S5200 mobile.
