Latest Sony Ericsson Satio News
Just a day ago, we were able to confirm that 3 Mobile will be delivering the Spotify music streaming service to the Sony Ericsson Vivaz. Now, it looks like Sony is adding even more music functionality to the smart phone in the form of a humble little equalizer for managing music settings for playback.
The equalizer comes with manual settings and presets for specific music genres or preferred speaker settings for that customized music feel –it also helps being able to set the equalizer to match the acoustic qualities of earphones, headphones or earbud-type devices.
The Sony Ericsson Vivaz...
It is not news that Sony Ericsson is in trouble. They have been these past couple of years due to low phone sales and sadly, mostly weak devices. Which is a sad shame since there are some SE phones that are just plain good; the walkman series in particular were pretty trendy, stylish and functional, for a bunch of mostly-GSM devices.
Anyway, the last big news bits regarding the mobile phone manufacturer was that they closed up several offices, and are really hoping that this holiday will bring much needed revenue into the coffers.
Just a couple of days back, it was confirmed that their n...
Just a few weeks ago came the news that Sony Ericsson had to close up some of their offices in the United States, a facility in India and another facility in Sweden. An estimated total of 2000 employees were let go in the process.
It is pretty much public knowledge that the company is having problems. Among the closed offices were those in Miami, apparently these were folded into the main North American branches, as for the facilities in India and Sweden, a new SE facility was opened in Lund to take care of operations.
The problems did not stop there, despite the hype and marketing inves...
A new Satio firmware is out; the R1CA037 is already available for download at the official Sony Ericsson website and we can expect to see results about the effectiveness of the update soon.
For those who are not familiar, the Sony Ericsson Satio got pulled out of shelves from both Phones4U and Carphone Warehouse due to a lot of major firmware issues. The symptoms of the problem were quite varied, ranging from slowdowns, to crashing, to power-downs and even losing ringtones.
This was a major problem for Sony Ericsson, who recently had to shut down several offices within the United Sates a...
As we reported last week, the Sony Ericsson Satio mobile phone had to be taken off the shelves by Carphone Warehouse and others after a number of problems with the device saw customers returning them at an alarming rate – these issues weren't small either, as they included handset resets and random freezes.
As a result Carphone Warehouse, along with others such as Phones4u, are understandably hesitant to stock any Sony Ericsson mobile phones. We think that this shouldn't come as any big surprise given the blow to profits the recent Satio disaster will have undoubtedly caused.
