Sony Ericsson txt Deals

Sony Ericsson txt Preview

The Sony Ericsson txt is a BlackBerry style messaging phone complete with a frontal compact QWERTY keypad, trackball and a number of other physical buttons. Even though it is a feature phone and not a smartphone, and runs on its own proprietary operating system it does come with some good support for Facebook and Twitter, which is important in today´s messaging world.

Its operating system also means that there is no app store so you cannot get hold of additional apps to the ones already available. However, it does come with some decent apps on offer such as TrackID and Google Talk. The txt also has a dedicated button providing you with quick access to your messages, in a similar manner to the Facebook buttons found on the HTC Chacha and Salsa.

Wi-Fi is on offer although 3G is not available, so web based services can only be enjoyed on the move with GPRS and EDGE. Still, the txt comes with an HTML browser and support for instant messaging and email.

The txt features good playback for music and video, although the smaller 2.55" screen is perhaps not ideal for extended video watching. There are some games on offer, although nothing to shout out about, and the txt comes with a 3 megapixel camera with video recording support.

The Sony Ericsson txt is not crammed full of features but has enough to keep you entertained while out and about. Its primary focus is with messaging and this it does well, with its support for social networks, email, dedicated messaging button and QWERTY keyboard. The only let down here is that features such as Facebook may become a bit of a pain without 3G support, although by no means unusable.
