The T-Mobile Energy is one of the more stylish and user-friendly smartphones on the market, and looks rather dashing in white.
This is a capable all-round smartphone that comes with a video camera (3.2 MP), audio player, FM radio and MP3 player. The touch screen measures a reasonable 3.2” yet the compact dimensions of the handset ensure it’s small enough to slip into your pocket.
The T-Mobile Energy measures a svelte 116 x 60mm and weighs just 121g. The phone has a strong fascia, despite being made of plastic. It should be noted that it is prone to scratching however. While the Energy isn’t likely to win any design awards, it’s still a smartly-styled phone for the money.
Users can keep in touch with their friends by using the Facebook and Twitter apps that have been pre-installed. They can also surf the net and keep an eye on their emails while on the go. The generously-sized 3.2” touchscreen is simple to use, while transferring images and other content via Bluetooth is quick and easy. When those bickering kids on the bus get too noisy, switch on the built-in FM radio or listen to your favourite tunes using the MP3 player.
The WiFi-enabled T-Mobile Energy offers smooth internet browsing that is quick and responsive. Battery life, meanwhile, consists of a fairly standard 4-5 hours’ talk time. The handset takes up to four hours to fully charge, a process that will need to be repeated daily for heavy mobile internet users. The T-Mobile Energy’s name would appear to something of a misnomer then.
The phone comes with a headset included as standard as well as a 2GB SD card to store all those pictures and videos that will inevitably be amassed. The handset’s simple layout and design make it easy for the user to navigate their way around. Anyone who’s ever held a smartphone in the palm of their hand will have no trouble getting to grips with the T-Mobile Energy.
Given the price of the T-Mobile Energy, there’s little to fault here. As well as featuring a host of built-in features, smart design and large screen, there’s a respectable 3.2 MP camera to play with. T-Mobile aren’t the only mobile provider to offer own-branded smartphones of course; for users who aren’t fussy which network they sign up with, the Orange San Fransisco II is a viable alternative, while the LG Optimus Chat is also worth a look.
