Why compare with us?

The Vairy Touch is one of the newest phones to be launched as part of the T Mobile series. The phone was launched as one of the cheapest touch screen phones in the market. The device looks very similar to the T Mobile MDA Basic, though this phone does not run Windows. The phone is manufactured by a Chinese company called the ZTE. The touch screen capabilities are pretty good for a phone in this price range.

Specifications:

  • Size: Small slim phone
  • Weight: 99 g
  • Screen: 2.4 inch resistive touch screen
  • Memory: Full details not available though phone is expected to hold sufficient memory enough for at least 1000 phonebook entries
  • Battery: Talk time up to a maximum of 9 hours/Long standby time expected of at least 500 hours
  • Camera: 1.3 MP camera with no flash/Videos can be recorded
  • Connectivity: Dual Band GSM GPRS allowing efficient and easy roaming/Bluetooth built in
  • Music: Media players can play MP3’s as well as a few video formats
  • Other features: Built in FM radio/PDA style touch screen/Wide range of multimedia features

The phone looks good in a grayish black outer covering. The screen is bordered by a silver frame which makes the phone look more expensive. The central navigation key is also surrounded by a silver border which is raised off the surface of the phone. This makes the key easy to find by just touching it. The body of the phone has a matte finish which makes the phone look much better than some phones like the LG Prada where the body of the phone acted like a fingerprint magnet. The phone also has a few dedicated shortcut keys on the front which allow easy access to the basic phone functions. The call and end keys are situated on the left and right of the central key respectively. The phone is lightweight making it very pocket friendly. The touch screen is large and clear making it very user friendly. The user has the option of either using the touch screen with the stylus or using their fingers. Another good function is the handwriting recognition application which allows the user to type out messages by just writing the letter on the screen itself. The media player has a nice purple UI which is easy to use.

Overall the phone is a good buy for anyone interested in a touch screen phone. There are some disadvantages of which the main one is surrounding the fact that when music is played using the media player, the user cannot do anything else using the phone. The headphones given with the phone are of very poor quality. The videos recorded using the phone are also of very low quality, but for a phone that falls in the lower price range it is pretty good. The battery life is long making the phone better than some models like the Nokia 5610 where the talk time was only about 5 hours.
