Dell Streak 7 Review Dell was one of the first manufacturers to get into the touchscreen tablet craze that kicked off after the launch of the Apple iPad in 2010. Their first offering, the Dell Streak (now sometimes referred to as the Dell Streak 5), caused some confusion due to its relatively small screen. At 5" many onlookers were unsure as to whether the device was a large smartphone or a small tablet.   There is less confusion to be had with the Streak 7 which, with a 7" screen, is more clearly identifiable as a tablet. Its slightly more petite screen (compared......

Dell Venue Pro Review   The Venue Pro is one of the first phones to feature Windows Phone 7, the long awaited update to Windows Mobile. This is the first such phone from Dell, a company that is fairly new to the smartphone market. The Venue Pro comes packed with all the obligatory WP7 entertainment features as well as a whole host of professional features on board. The most striking thing about the Venue Pro from the outset is its unusual keyboard, which slides out beneath the screen rather than the side.   This is not an unheard of design although it is unusual to see on a tou......

Dell Streak Early Review   In a word or two The Dell Streak is a smartphone-tablet hybrid with the power of a tablet and the size of a phone.       The Design Incredibly thin at only 10mm, the Dell Streak has been called a “mini iPad”. Thinner than the iPhone, the Streak is half-smartphone and half-tablet with a 5 inch capacitive touchscreen.   The size of the screen makes the HTC HD2’s 4.3 inch touchscreen seem little by comparison, and really has the potential to make user experience visually fantastic. The display is high resolution and ......

Dell Aero Review: First Look   The Dell Aero is the most affordable of the latest Dell devices to be launched. The other handsets are the high-end Lightning and Thunder, and the so-called mid-range Flash and Smoke. This handset will not wow you with its design like the other four, and resembles the Dell Mini 3 in looks.   The Aero has a simple, rounded frame with a 3.5 inch capacitive screen. Although not AMOLED like the screens on the Thunder and Lightning, the Aero’s screen is responsive and supports multi-touch so you can zoom in on something with a pinch of the screen......

Dell Lightning Review: First Look   Well, they do say lightning doesn’t strike twice – and in the case of the Dell Lightning this is true. Although there are four other handsets launched together with the Lightning – Thunder, Flash, Smoke and Aero – the Lightning is the only slider phone and only non-Android phone.   Run on the Windows Phone 7 OS, the Lightning sports a 4.1 AMOLED capacitive screen like the Thunder, but also a slide-down QWERTY keyboard. The phone looks fantastic. It is sleek, compact and powerful. And the technology behind the screen sh......

Dell Smoke Review: First Look   Run on the so-called Android Froyo 2.1 OS, the Dell Smoke is due for release in Q2 2011. But in the meantime, Dell is keen to tempt you with its fantastic looks and, in the company’s own words – “non-conforming style”.   Tall and sleek, the Dell Smoke resembles a BlackBerry as it is a hybrid of a touchscreen smartphone and a full QWERTY smartphone. It is like a longer, more powerful Pixi handset with a good-sized screen (2.8 inch).   Launched together with four other handsets – Flash, Thunder, Lightning, Aero ......

Dell Thunder Review: First Look   The Dell Thunder means business. It is a smartphone at the higher-end of the spectrum and will likely come with full media support.   Launched together with the other handsets in the Dell “storm” range – Lightning, Flash, Smoke and Aero – the Thunder is on a par with the Lightning in terms of capabilities. Both have a 4.1 inch AMOLED capacitive screen. This means all that the Thunder has to offer will be viewed on a large, vibrant and clear screen which lets you make the lightest touches to navigate and interact onscreen......

Dell Flash Review: First Look   The Dell Flash is an attention-grabbing smartphone, crafted out of a slice of “curved glass”. Whether this is entirely practical is unknown at this stage but it certainly makes for a modern and unique device. And still only 11mm thin. And with a 3.5 inch touch-sensitive screen.   Once you get past the fashionable exterior, you can enjoy the trendy interior. Features are expected to include a 5-megapixel camera with smile and blink detection; 512MB RAM and a Qualcomm MSM 7230 800MHz processor for keeping things swift and enabling multi......

Dell Mini 3 Review   In a word or two The Dell Mini 3 is a range of mobile phones which mark the computer giant’s entry into the smartphone market.                           The Design Modelled fairly closely on the iPhone, the Dell Mini 3 smartphone is a similar size albeit slightly taller. The look is sleek and minimalist, with the front completely dominated by the 3.5 inch touchscreen – in fact, the only buttons on the phone are the volume control key......
