The Tocco Quick Tap is at first glance a rather nondescript affordable touchscreen device that doesn´t look a whole lot different to the earlier Tocco Lite released by Samsung back in 2009. Indeed, the features on board are not much to shout about with basic multimedia support, an unimpressive camera and connectivity options limited to GPRS and EDGE. However, rather than being consigned to the dustbin of forgotten affordable smartphones released over the years the Tocco Quick Tap is going to make a name for itself by being the first phone to implement mobile payments through Near Field......

Samsung Corby II Review
LG started it all off with the release of the KP500 Cookie which was supposed to provide a cheaper touchscreen device with limited features so that more people could join in with the (then) new touchscreen technology that was doing the rounds. The Cookie went one to become a surprise success selling millions of copies, even outperforming many of the top range phones of its day. The Tocco, Tocco Lite and later Corby/Genio range of phones were Samsung´s effort to capitalise on this growing market for affordable touchscreen phones.
The original Co......

Samsung Galaxy Pro Review
The Galaxy Pro is a messaging phone from Samsung that follows in the footsteps of many of BlackBerry´s iconic handsets. Featuring a 2.8" touch sensitive TFT screen, the Galaxy Pro also comes with a QWERTY keypad that is excellent for typing out all sorts of messages including SMS (with threaded viewing), email, instant messaging and through social networks like Facebook and Twitter.
These social networks are integrated into the Google operating system on board (Android 2.2 Froyo), and the Galaxy Pro also comes with support for MMS messag......

Samsung Galaxy S II Review
The Galaxy S was one of the most popular handsets of 2010 and so it is no surprise that Samsung would issue out a sequel. In fact, at the time of the Galaxy S II´s release the original Galaxy S still remains one of the most popular and best selling phones available in the UK. While a slightly modified version of the original was provided with the Samsung Galaxy SL the Galaxy S II is by no means a slightly polished rehash. The Galaxy S II follows on the same award winning design principles while undeniably pushing Samsung to the forefront of the......

Samsung Wave 578 Review
The Samsung Wave 578 is another addition to Samsung´s popular range of affordable smartphones. While the Wave 578 offers even more affordability than the original Wave, it also still comes with an extensive range of features to keep you entertained. The Wave 578 runs on the Bada operating system, with Samsung´s TouchWiz interface in place as well.
TouchWiz has been successfully implemented on many of Samsung´s other top handsets and it widely noted for its excellent social network integration. Social networks like Facebook and Twitt......

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Review
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is Samsung´s second touchscreen tablet but this time Samsung is taking a different approach than it did with its debut. For starters, as the name would suggest, the Galaxy Tab 10.1 comes with a larger 10.1 screen (compared to the Galaxy Tab´s 7" display). One of the things that was good about the smaller 7" display is, aside from differentiating it from the iPad, it made the Galaxy Tab a more pocketable device. There is no doubt that some people prefer the smaller devices and some prefer the larger, and......

Samsung Tocco Icon Review
The Tocco Icon is the sequel to the highly popular Tocco Lite that, along with the LG Cookie, pioneered the affordable touchscreen market. The Tocco Icon is an excellent handset for people interested in purchasing a touchscreen phone but either unwilling to pay the high price of high end devices or just unsure about whether the touch phenomenon is really for them.
The Tocco Icon is not just more affordable but also more comfortably sized than the latest touchscreen phones, which often push beyond 4 inches in screen size. While these larger screens ......

Samsung Galaxy SL Review
The Samsung Galaxy SL is essentially a slightly modified version of the very popular Galaxy S. Even though the Galaxy S was released in the middle of 2010 it still remains one of the most popular phones on the market, and for good reason. Even in the months since its release there have not been many phones that have even come close to outperforming the Galaxy S, and so it will not be surprising to see the Galaxy SL enjoy a similar level of success.
There are only really two major differences between the Galaxy SL and the original Galaxy S. The first......

Samsung Galaxy Gio Review
Launched alongside the Galaxy Fit, Galaxy Mini and Galaxy Ace, the Samsung Galaxy Gio is part of Samsung´s new affordable range of Galaxy handsets. These offer to provide a similar experience to the highly popular Galaxy S while coming with a much smaller price tag. When seeking to reduce the cost of manufacturing phone companies typically choose to drop Wi-Fi and 3G from a phones specifications, but fortunately this is not the case with the Galaxy Gio. Because of this the Gio remains an excellent messaging phone while at the same time coming with a m......

Samsung Galaxy Fit Review
The Galaxy Fit S5670 was announced alongside the Galaxy Ace, Galaxy Mini and Galaxy Gio as part of Samsung´s new affordable Galaxy range. These phones offer a similar experience to the highly popular Galaxy S smartphone but at a much more affordable price. This affordability is attained by coming with a slower processor and not-quite-as-good camera and not, as would be expected, the omission of 3G or Wi-Fi.
Wi-Fi and 3G connections are usually the first features to be dropped in an effort to make a phone affordable and it is good to see that ......
