Tesco Direct mobile phone deals & offers on contract

Tesco is the largest supermarket within the UK and a household name for most British shoppers. Tesco Direct is an online service that Tesco offer for the purchase of household and electrical items, as well as garden furniture and jewellery. Items can either be delivered to your home or collected in store, and Tesco Direct offers free delivery for orders over £50.

While stocking all manner of goods from sofas to table lamps, Tesco Direct is a great place to shop for electronic items. They have a large range of computers and laptops, as well as TVs, games consoles, DVD players, digital cameras and mobile phones. Many of these items are sold for a much reduced price due to Tesco´s purchasing power, and this combined with their free delivery makes them a great place to shop for electronics. In combination with their low prices they also have many money off deals for selected items and all purchases can earn you clubcard points which can then be redeemed for other items at a later date.

As well as being a retailer Tesco also offers many other services such as insurance, internet connection and they also operate as a mobile phone network (through O2´s infrastructure). Tesco Mobile offers a low rate for both contract and pay as you go phones, as well as handsets themselves that are available on their network. Contract phones available from Tesco Direct only include phones on the Tesco network, but not phones from other networks such O2, Orange or Vodafone. However, these other networks are options for the pay as you go phones that Tesco Direct stock.

Tesco was founded in 1919 by Jack Cohen, first as a market stall in Hackney but quickly becoming a chain of high street stores. Tesco was one of the first British retailers to adopt the American style self-service convenience store model that has since become synonymous with supermarket shopping and were also one of the first British supermarkets to realise the potential of trading online, setting up Tesco.com in 1994 and having the world´s first functional online home delivery service in 1996.
