The Acer Tempo DX900 is the new Windows Mobile devices to be launched in the Smartphone market today. This device follows the lead of devices such as the BlackBerry Bold in having features ideally suited for business users. One thing that makes the Acer Tempo DX900 stick out like a sore thumb in the smartphone market when compared to phones like the LG Chocolate and the HTC Touch is that the Tempo DX900 is a dual SIM phone.

The Tempo DX900 with a thickness of only 17mm is quite thin for a smarphone. The phone can be held comfortably in the palm of your hand and is small enough to fit into even the smallest space. The phone does not really have such a good design as you might have expected in a device of its class. The rubbery finish on the back of the phone does improve its grip, even though this makes the phone look quite expensive. However, this effect is ruined by the fact that the shell of the phone is made of a cheap black plastic. The buttons below the screen are silver. All the keys on the phone are bordered by a white light which makes it easy to see these keys in the dark. The screen of the phone is sharp and bright allowing you to view your media at a decent resolution. The touch screen is not very finger friendly, which means that you will have to use the stylus for most of the time. The Tempo DX900 comes with a spare stylus in its box.
Overall, the Tempo DX900 is a pretty decent phone for its price. There are much better phones in the market such as the HTC Touch and the LG Crystal, which only cost a little more. The camera is quite good, though not in the class of camera in phones such as the Nokia N95. One big disadvantage of the Tempo DX900 is the fact that the keys are not very responsive. The battery life of the Tempo DX900 is quite good, although it does tend to drain quite quickly when you use the phone to play music.
