Blackberry Thunder 9500 Reviews
Introduction
The brand new Blackberry Thunder 9500 is set to be Blackberry’s best phone yet. The phone is likely to be released in early 2009 and will have a huge set of high quality features and is set to be the rival phone for the iPhone 3G. Personally, I don’t like the iPhone so almost anything can rival it as far as I’m concerned. However, there have been several rumours about the Blackberry 9500 and they are all very exciting. Some say it’ll have support for 4G and that it’ll be running the new Blackberry operating system 4.7 – I think, however, that we’ll just have to wait and see.
Specifications
As this phone is yet to be released, all I know about the specifications are mainly rumours or simply common knowledge. The detailed specs will be revealed nearer the release of this phone. So far, all I know is that the Blackberry Thunder is going to have a huge set of features to include GPS, a-GPS, a powerful media player, WiFi and of course high speed internet capabilities. Other than that, we just don’t know yet because although it was originally rumoured to release in late 2008 there seems to have been a delay and it looks like we’ll be waiting until early 2009 for a peek at this phone.
We also know that the phone will have a great screen resolution of 360 by 480 which is simply breathtaking and I think a lot of people are going to really love this phone. The phone will also be completely touch screen which is very interesting for a Blackberry. A lot of people are saying that they don’t like the idea of a completely touch screen Blackberry – I do! Touch screen is the big thing and I really like the look and feel of touch screen phones so I think the Blackberry following suit with iPhone, LG and Samsung will be a good thing and with a massive display you can’t really complain.
I’m pretty sure that the Blackberry Thunder will have similar features to the massively popular Blackberry Storm but obviously no one will know for sure until the specs are officially released by Blackberry. I do know that a lot of people are very excited about this phone and I’m one of them. I think it’ll be interesting to see how much of a competitor this phone will be in 2009 and whether it’ll live up to all our high expectations.
Looks
In terms of looks, all I know is that the phones screen will be huge and the resolution is set to be super clear and large so I guess watching movies and video clips will be very enjoyable on this phone. Apart from that, we know all we can tell from pictures so I’m guessing that it’ll be very stylish for a Blackberry and offer a huge range of exciting features to match. The phone appears to be rather large but that’s normal for a Blackberry and I think it’ll be similarly slim as the Blackberry Storm which is a beautiful phone.
Other than that, I’m afraid we don’t know because the full specs have not been released. I hope it has everything that we all want it to have and I have to say that I trust Blackberry to deliver in every aspect of the design and looks of this phone. It’s likely to be very stylish for a Blackberry and I think it’ll probably be easy to use as well – Blackberry have a good habit of releasing phones that are easy and simple to use – although the new operating system may throw a few people.
Design
The design is likely to be very good and I think it’ll push some boundaries technologically. It’ll probably feature a few innovative applications and features which will have exceptional design quality. Hopefully there will be no problems with this phone but as it’ll be running a new operating system I’m afraid only time will tell with the design of the software. If it’s like other Blackberries though, it’ll likely be very well designed and extremely robust in terms of applications and software management.
Overall
Overall, as we don’t know much about the Blackberry Thunder I think we’re just going to have to wait and see. First thoughts and first looks seem to indicate that this phone is going to be a huge contender in the high end market and I really hope that Blackberry pull it off. Having seen a few photos of this phone I think it’ll do just fine but usability is a big issue these days so it better stand up to hard critique. I think a lot of people will have very high expectations for Blackberry with this phone so it’ll have to be something pretty damn special in order to please everyone in the crowd.
All in all, the phone looks as though it’s going to be great but as usual with yet to be released phones they always look great and then there’s some major problem. Hopefully Blackberry will overcome this and will be able to release a phone that is as good as it looks to be. The phone’s feature list that is slowly building appears to suggest that it’ll have a nice set of high quality features but as most suggestions are rumoured, only time will tell.
I think this phone will be a great success and whether it has problems or not – the look of the phone will make Blackberry march into the leaders’ field. I also think that this phone will live up to our expectations just from Blackberry’s history – so far they haven’t made a phone that has disappointed me and I really hope that with the Blackberry Thunder 9500 they keep up their almost flawless mobile phone history.
