The Blackberry 8820 not only allows you to connect to your home or corporate network but also makes use of the many Wi-Fi hotspots that will be in your country to get access to high speed internet and downloads. The fact that the Blackberry 8820 is also EDGE compatible means that you won’t be left stranded without an internet connection even if there are no near Wi-Fi hotspots. The full – QWERTY keyboard gives the phone a very business feel, which is what the phone is meant to do!

The BlackBerry 8820, unlike most other full – QWERTY smartphones, which tend to look very ungainly, looks very smooth and sleek. The screen occupies nearly half of the front part of the phone, with the call accept, call reject, tracker ball, menu and previous menu key located right under the screen. Under these buttons lie the QWERTY keyboard which has the number keys in tandem with some of the keys on the keyboard. The QWERTY keyboard will take a maximum of perhaps a couple of days to get used to, but once you do, it will make typing messages on the phone really easy. The whole web browsing experience will also be enhanced due to the full QWERTY keyboard. The right side of the phone has only the volume rocker, while the left side is populated with the miniUSB port, the 2.5 mm headset jack and a couple of other buttons.

The Blackberry 8820 is clearly a great phone which has the right mix of features which will be loved by all BlackBerry fans. The 8820 has a very sleek look and nice design, and the tracker ball, along with the QWERTY keyboard are sure to appeal to a wide audience, even more than the business customers which BlackBerry devices are primarily targeted at. The media options are quite good and the phone is overall very good for its and sure looks upto other BlackBerry phones like the Blackberry Pearl, Blackberry Curve and the Blackberry Storm.
