This fantastic phone brought into the market by BlackBerry is an improvement to the BlackBerry Pearl. Coming in quite a wide variety of colors, the BlackBerry Pearl 2 is also available in the smooth blue and of course the traditional black. The BlackBerry 2 surely comes out as a mobile with ordinary looks when compared to most other traditional BlackBerry phones. However, the build and the features of the Pearl 2 are quite typical of the BlackBerry range such as the BlackBerry 8100.Specifications:

When compared to other BlackBerry predecessors such as the BlackBerry Pearl, the Pearl 2 is a little larger. However, this does not seem to be much of a disadvantage when compared to some other great options that the phone has on offer. Not only does the phone look good but it also (thankfully) performs much better than the 8100 when it comes to predictive text typing. This makes sending text messages and emails much easier. Also the Pearl 2 quickly picks up words which are used frequently allowing faster typing which is a great thing for people who are checking and sending out emails while they are one the move. The fast moving and nifty scroll ball is very advantageous as it helps ease out the process of navigating through web pages. The display is quite good for viewing video clips.
On the whole the Peal 2 makes a good buy and is probably far better when compared to other models in the Pearl series. The call quality is fairly good and you won’t find any of the “tinny sounds” which are characteristic of phones such as Nokia 5610. Calls through the speakerphone are also quite clear since the speakers are fairly good. Music playback controls have seen a noticeable improvement. Although the Pearl 2 is not in the same team as phones like the iPhone, the average user will be quite contented with a phone like this. The 3.5 mm headphone port is quite nifty since users can use just about any headphone which they fancy. For a phone of the caliber of Pearl 2, the battery performance is quite good too. In fact, the battery lasted for longer periods of time when compared to the Samsung Soul whose battery didn’t live for even 2 days with moderate use and no charging. The inbuilt GPS receiver is a value adding feature. The phone is great for people who are on the move since it has a rugged build along with the GPS utility. The phone’s camera is decent but focusing on objects which are at a close range is a little problematic. However, the phone is missing the shortcut key dedicated to the camera, which is seen on the Nokia 5310.
