Introduction

The brand new HTC Touch Viva is a complete internet experience on a mobile phone. It was released at the same time as the HTC Touch 3G and is very similar except that it comes with a WiFi card for connecting to high speed broadband at home, in the office or while on the go at WiFi Hotspots. The HTC Touch Viva also has a smaller camera than the HTC Touch 3G phone at just 2 mega pixels instead of 3.2. I have to say that this phone has a lot to offer and HTC are quickly becoming an extremely popular mobile phone manufacturer with the release of all their touch screen smart phones.

Specifications

The HTC Touch Viva has a huge set of features and is ideal for personal and business users. The phone is equipped with a 2 mega pixel camera and a 2.8 QVGA screen which means watching movies and looking at photos will be very enjoyable. The phone also has GPS and a-GPS as well as Bluetooth version 2 and USB connections. The major features of this phone are internet based and allow users to enjoy a completely wireless internet experience by using either the high speed WLAN card for connecting to WiFi internet or the EDGE technology that is built into the phone.

This phone is supposed to provide a completely unique internet experience according to HTC and although it has all the necessary components – I wouldn’t call it complete. It is, however, a great phone and at a lower price than the HTC Touch 3G so I presume it’s their budget option for personal and entertainment users. The phone also has good memory at 256MB of flash and 128MB of RAM and you can expand the memory using Micro SD cards which means you should be able to store a lot of photos and videos on this phone.

Overall, the phone’s features are high spec and you can expect the phone to be very popular. Even as a budget option, this phone has a great deal to offer and is likely to sell very well. I really like the HTC Touch Viva and think it has a lot of potential. It’s also very good looking and has a beautiful feel to it when you’re using it. The Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional operating system is well integrated with the HTC Touch Flo user interface and is ideal for the touch screen controls. All in all, everything seems to work well and you get a lot for your money with this phone.

Looks

The looks of this phone are probably going to be one of the main selling points because it has a large 2.8 inch QVGA screen and is ergonomically shaped so that you can use it with ease. It also has a very nice finish to it and is currently available in Storm Grey. I really like the look and feel of this phone and I don’t think I’m the only one. It’s also quite a small phone at just 104.5mm by 59mm by 15.75mm in dimensions. The phone also weighs only 110 grams which is very light for a smart phone.

Overall, the looks of this phone are beautiful and I think a lot of people are going to like the design of the exterior of the handset. It’s a popular design and because it is touch screen it’s likely to be very popular with personal and entertainment users. As far as I can tell there have been no comments about any issues with the design of the phone and I think that’s because HTC have become rather good at creating easy to use and great looking touch screen smart phones. It’s simply a masterpiece and I think will sell exceptionally well in today’s mobile phone market.

Design

In terms of the software, HTC Touch Flo is an easy to use user interface and has a lot of positives to it. There have previously been a few comments about the usability of the Touch Flo interface but I think with the HTC Touch Viva these problems seem to be gone. In terms of the exterior design everything is perfect and internally the phone is very robust and because it uses Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional you can expect an easy to use operating system as well. I think the design of the HTC Touch Viva is spot on and you’re unlikely to find any other phones in today’s market that offer such clean designs.

Overall

Overall, the HTC Touch Viva is a great phone and offers a lot to its potential users. I think that this phone is definitely more suited to personal users than business users and I think if you have any sort of interest in the internet then this phone will be ideal for you. The WiFi card and high speed internet facilities make this phone an ideal device for mobile users who like the internet and I also think that people who like entertainment features can get a lot from this phone too. The 2 mega pixel camera may not be the best camera available but it does the job and allows users to snap some great shots.

The phone’s other features such as the GPS and a-GPS make this phone great for people who are out and about a lot and it’s always a nice thing to know you can’t get lost. The phone really does have a nice set of features and although it’s not top of the range – it wasn’t supposed to be – it still has a good set of features which will please a lot of users. I think that overall in terms of looks, design and usability this phone will receive a lot of praise. It has everything a personal user could need and more.

The HTC Touch Viva is a great phone and I really recommend it to someone who wants a phone that can keep them up to date with friends, family and colleagues as well as give them access to high speed internet for chatting and emailing while on the go. The phone simply has it all and more and is likely to sell exceptionally well this year and next. I really think that as far as personal phones go - this could be one of the best.
