The LG BL20 Chocolate slider mobile phone is a beautiful and feature-full addition to the LG Chocolate family, which includes the LG BL40 and its predecessor the LG KG800.

 

 

The LG BL20 Chocolate is ultra modern and sophisticated in its design, encased in all-black shell which is complemented by the vibrant red of the drop-down keypad. And the touch-sensitive buttons below the screen light up in red when pressed.

 

It is longer and wider than the LG Chocolate KG800 phone, but slimmer. It feels solid and is comfortable to hold, even with the slider open. The silver strip running down the sides enhances its great look.

 

 

The phone is very user-friendly with clear and vibrant image quality on-screen. The touch-sensitive buttons on the front of the LG BL20 Chocolate are nicely spaced to avoid any mistaken button presses, and the slide-down keyboard is easy to navigate. The touch-sensitive keys along the side of the phone are discreet and do not spoil the phone’s sleek look but they improve usability as you can control volume levels or the camera zoom, for example.

 

Along with the more common features of a cutting-edge mobile phone, such as email, instant messaging, FM radio, picture ID, multiple numbers per contact facility, and video recording, the LG BL20 Chocolate boasts some seriously impressive elements. One element is the 5 megapixel inbuilt camera with auto focus, LED flash and digital zoom.

 

The LG BL20 Chocolate also has Widget Hotkeys which allow you to personalise the look and feel of your phone. You can choose which four favourite features you want to have direct access to, including Alarm, News or Memo.

 

An uncommon feature which is found on the LG BL20 Chocolate is its Clear Memo Capture function. This lets you scan words or drawings for more personal communication as well as practicality. You could sketch a map for a particular journey and then store it on your phone. Or you could scan in handwritten meeting notes and forward these on via email, to save you having to type them up.

 

The LG BL20 Chocolate comes with the latest Bluetooth 2.1 installed and is supportive of high-speed downloads. The music player offers easy management and lets you sort your music how you want to – by song, artist, genre, album etc.

 

 

The impressive capability of the LG BL20 Chocolate is slightly restricted by the small 130 MB memory. However, this is solved by the expandable memory space provided by the microSD memory card slot.
