Quite simply the best looking phone we´ve seen all year. With its tempered glass screen, amazing seamless body, gloss finish and surprisingly slim size, this is what all phones should look like.

The screen has been the main focus of attention here for everyone talking about this phone, and rightly so. At 4 inches in diagonal length, it´s one of (if not quite the) biggest you can get your hands on. However, what makes it really special is the fact that its 800 by 345 pixels are set in a 21:9 format. To translate: that´s some panoramic cinema style viewing. Impressive stuff. But even though that´s going to be mightily eye-pleasing for all your film / TV viewing, it´s going to be even more exciting for web browsing. It might not sound it to you, but think about it: with those 800 pixels running across the screen in landscape mode, you´ll be able to view the whole width of most standard web pages out there, meaning no more annoying scrolling and zooming in and out just to be able to read the sites you want to read.

 

That´s enough about the screen, but the eye candy doesn´t dry up there. Because the physical design of the phone itself is nothing short of spectacular. The Chocolate series from LG has already thrown up some interesting and distinctive designs over recent times, but the BL40 is simply a step above all of them. In fact, this phone wouldn´t look out of place in the hands of a character in a sci-fi movie, so ahead of its competitors is it. Even with that extra large screen, LG have managed to keep the body size amazingly sleek and slim, and the thing slides in and out of bags or pockets smoother than anything you´ve ever pocketed before!

 

Needless to say, this phone also has all the usual suspects when it comes to top end phones these days: AGPS, WiFi, high speed internet connectivity, music and video playing and even an FM transmitter (so you can broadcast your music collection to any FM radio within range) are all included.
