The LG Town GT350 is a QWERTY-enabled touchscreen phone with social networking integration and a modest price.

 

 

The first of a new series of Town handsets from LG, the LG Town GT350 has been designed for messaging and social networking. The premise behind the new LG Town Series is to allow you to easily maintain your communities – or “towns” – of friends and social groups.

 

You have the choice of communicating via the 3 inch screen or the full slide-out QWERTY keyboard. The screen is resistive like the recently launched Samsung Champ and Huawei G7002 phones. But it is 0.6 inches bigger and boasts a 4-row keyboard with customisable shortcut keys, so typing out messages should be comfortable and quick on the LG Town GT350.

 

With a rounded, friendly design, the LG Town GT350 also has a youthful look and comes in various colours including aqua blue, purple, light silver and black.

 

 

As a phone created for messaging, the GT350 has social networking at its centre. There are widgets for Twitter and Facebook, and a live feed on the home screen of all the latest communication activities. A quick press of the refresh button will display the latest updates, tweets, and more, in the one place – similar to Friend Stream on the HTC Desire or MotoBlur on the Motorola QUENCH. This feature makes it easier to stay in touch with friends as you don’t need to launch the individual apps to find out what’s being said on the various sites.

 

Other communication choices onboard the LG Town GT350 include email and multimedia messaging. You can take pretty basic but functional photos using the phone’s 2-megapixel camera and upload them online over Wi-Fi or share over Bluetooth. The camera has a video option for live images too.

 

To store all your photos – and music on the MP3 player – you can increase the internal memory to up to 8 GB via a microSD card.

 

 

While there is Wi-Fi support on the LG Town GT350 there is no support for 3G.
