Motorola W233 Renew Review - read honest Motorola W233 Renew reviews
The Motorola W233 was released earlier this year. The phone is one of the latest unique flagship models to be launched by Motorola. Earlier Motorola took one step out of the box with the launch of the Motorola Aura which was a high end luxury phone. Now it seems to have gone back to the basics in terms of features with the world’s first carbon neutral mobile phone-the W233. This phone is definitely set to dominate the market in environment friendly phones. The phone is also called Renew. The phone is made entirely of recycled plastic which have been taken from used water bottles. This is much more than the 50% recycled plastic used in the Nokia 3110. Though the mere idea of this “green gadget” will definitely send some eyes rolling, others might find the novelty of the device interesting. The idea is sure to catch on in the near future. Specifications:
- Size: 111 mm x 45 mm x 14.7 mm

The phone looks good with a lime green border on the sides and a cream colored keypad with a black cover on the back of the phone. There are flecks of green around the navigation keys as well. This color scheme fits in with the environment friendly image, the phone projects. The Renew is both compact and lightweight making it very pocket friendly. Even though the phone is entirely made of plastic, it doesn’t look too cheap and is fairly robust for normal use. The display is pretty small though and is not of the best resolution. Text is easy to read on this display and is pretty bright. Menu navigation can be done with a central OK button and some soft keys on the side of it. The arrangement is fairly spread out and the keys can be pressed easily without too much of an overlap. Another advantage is the fact that the toggle key is raised off the surface of the phone.
Overall the phone is a good budget phone. The keypad feels good and texting gets easier with time. One disadvantage is the presence of a 2.5mm jack instead of a standard 3.5 mm which does limit the range of earphones that can be used with the phone. The Renew does not have a dedicated volume control like the Nokia 5310 which makes it annoying for any user who uses the music player a lot.
