Details
This little thing is being designed, marketed and outright flogged with those of you who lead an active life very firmly in mind. That is, those of you who use your phone not only as a phone, but as much for music, photos and videos, and all that online life sharing via Facebook and the like. In the words of the people at Nokia, that´s all about people who love ´content´, but all you need to worry about is that this thing more than looks after you and all the fun things you like, be it songs from the Nokia Music Store, apps you´ve found online, 3D games, rude and lewd videos and whatever you can find for yourself on the Ovi Store. All directly using the phone itself. Add to this Nokia´s great on-baord A-GPS navigation working in tandem with Ovi Maps (now with aerial images, 3D landmarks for 200+ cities, terrain map views for pedestrian and drive navigation and a bunch more.
Visiting the Ovi Store from the Nokia 5230 is a breeze. Ovi Store is conveniently accessible from the home screen of the phone and customers can immediately begin downloading and personalizing their phones with popular apps and games to make their phone more fun. New apps, games, videos, and more are added regularly and Ovi Store can be enjoyed on more than 75 Nokia devices and has active users from more than 180 countries.
The 5230 also has an easy to use music player and boasts up to 33 hours of playback time. You´ll also be getting your sticky fingers on a pass to the Comes With Music service, offering you – literally – all the tracks you can download, absolutely for free (the price of the service being eaten up by part of the price of the handset). You can of course plug any headphones you want into the thing, using its neat little 3.5mm connector. In addition, the Nokia 5230 features a Media Bar with quick access to your favorite media and applications, such as music, photos, YouTube or Ovi Share.
The always good to see Contacts Bar lets you use thumbnail images to keep up to date with up to 20 close friends, providing easy access to all your communications history with them, including emails, phone calls, photos and other social media updates such as their Twitter or Facebook statuses.
"We believe the Nokia 5230 is an unbeatable offer for many new customers who aspire a device that stars in music, mingles with social networks from Facebook to MySpace, navigates you to where it happens, when it happens, and comes in an array of dazzling colours." So says Jo Harlow, Vice President over at Nokia. And we couldn´t agree more. Especially on the fact that this could well be the device to tempt a lot of ´new´ people over to the brand, given how tempting an offer this is.
Conclusion
Cheap, feature-packed, good-looking and... well, what more do we need to say. A true bargain of a phone, and one well worth getting a hold of.
