Nokia 6600 Fold Review - read honest Nokia 6600 Fold reviews
Introduction
The relatively new Nokia 6600 Fold is the clamshell phone from Nokia which is the alternative to the Nokia 6600 Slide. Personally, I prefer the Slide phone and the features in the clamshell version are a little limited because of the design. The phone itself is great looking and offers a nice and stylish design. The features inside include a 2 mega pixel camera, 3G video calling and a lot more. This phone will be ideal for personal users who are looking for a mid range phone with a nice set of features and it definitely has a lot of appeal in terms of its features and its exterior design.
Specifications
The Nokia 6600 Fold is equipped with a great range of features for personal users who are looking for a mid range phone. The phone has a 2 mega pixel camera with a double LED flash – although it doesn’t have auto focus. The phone also has a great FM radio and a media player which can play almost all music file formats including MP3, WMA, AAC, AAC+ and eAAC+. The phone’s internal memory is a bit poor however, at just 15MB but you can use a Micro SD card to upgrade to a maximum of 4GB which is plenty of space for music, photos and videos.
The phone is not equipped with a 3.5 mm head phone jack which means you can’t use your own headphones but you can use Nokia’s supplied headphones or a Bluetooth headset because the phone is equipped with Bluetooth version 2.0. You can also take advantage of the high speed USB slot which means you can connect your phone to your PC for high speed data transfer so you can transfer files from your PC to your phone and vice versa. Overall, the phone’s connectivity is very good and you can enjoy sharing files with friends and family as well as with colleagues using MMS messaging and Bluetooth.
The phone is also equipped with Nokia Maps which is a useful service if you are ever trying to find your way somewhere. However, as the phone is not equipped with GPS, you will have to know where you are already in order to enjoy this feature. The phone also has good internet speeds and is 3G. You can use the mini Opera browser and email client which allows you to send and receive emails with attachments. The battery life on this phone is about average so don’t expect miracles but you can expect to be able to use this phone a fair bit before it runs out of juice.
Looks
In terms of looks, the Nokia 6600 Fold is a very stylish clamshell phone and I think it’ll appeal to a lot of people. The phone has a nice look to it and is definitely stylish. The design of the clamshell is very appealing and the cool feature of being able to tap the phone and has a display show up on the front of the phone is very innovative and funky. I really like the look of this phone and I think a lot of people will appreciate the design of the exterior because it works well and fits nicely in your hand.
The phone is reasonably heavy at 110 grams which is strange because the battery life is average so who knows what they’ve put in this phone to make it so heavy for a clamshell device. The phone measures in at 87.7mm by 44mm by 15.9mm which makes it quite large for a clamshell phone. All in all, the look and feel of the phone is good and although it is rather large and heavy for a flip phone, it does have a lot of great features to back up the stylish, if not rather large, design.
Design
The design of this phone and its features is very good and I think a lot of people will like the smooth and flowing feel of the user interface. The phone has a nice feel to it when in use and the features appear to work very well together. I’ve got to say that personally I do prefer the 6600 Slide but for a clamshell device from Nokia I’d say they’ve done a very good job. I think that you’ll probably really like this phone if you’re looking for a device which offers great features in a stylish clamshell casing.
Overall
All in all, I have to say that I do really like the 6600 Fold phone from Nokia and I think in terms of features and design it’s a phone that is well worth purchasing. As it is set in the mid range market I think it’ll do very well and although it doesn’t have all the high end features of the Nokia 6600 Slide, it still has the means to appeal to a lot of personal mobile phone users. The phone’s design on the exterior and interior is great and I’d highly recommend this phone to a lot of people.
The features on this phone are ideal for personal users and I would say that if you’re looking for a phone that can accommodate your business needs as well then you should probably look elsewhere. The Nokia 6600 Fold phone has all the features a mid range personal user should ever need and is ideal for basic mobile phone users who want a little extra in terms of features. This phone really does have all you could ever need and I think it’s a great mid range device and I think it is priced fairly in most places.
Overall, the Nokia 6600 Fold is a great phone and I really like it – the features available are perfect for mid range users and I think a lot of people will be very happy with this device. It may not have all the features that the Slide version has and it certainly isn’t a top of the range mobile phone but it wasn’t meant to be. As it stands the 6600 Fold is a great phone and is definitely worth the purchase. It has everything you could need and I think a lot of people will be very happy with this phone.
