Nokia 6600 Slide Review - read honest Nokia 6600 Slide reviews
Introduction
The brand new Nokia 6600 Slide is what everyone thought would be the upgrade to the 6500 Slide from Nokia but actually this phone is almost too similar to the 6500 Slide to be called an upgrade. The phone has most of the same features but is just a different design and it appears as though Nokia have just had a go at the same phone but made it look slightly different. The phone is a mid range model and will be priced accordingly and is perfect for people who are looking for a personal phone with a few of the more high tech features but not everything – it’s easy to use and I think this is one of the major selling points.
Specifications
The phone is equipped with a great range of features including a 3.2 mega pixel camera which is said to be amazing – it has a double LED flash and auto focus and is just as good as the 6500 Slide’s camera. The phone also has a good FM radio and media player so you can listen to all your favourite music while you’re on the go. The phone’s internal memory is a little poor at just 20 MB but the phone is able to support Micro SD cards of up to 16GB which is plenty for music, photos, videos and much more.
The phone’s display is about 2.2 inches and is an OLED screen with QVGA resolution which is great. This phone’s display is very good and is clear and vibrant. The phone is a 3G device but it doesn’t have HSDPA internet so you can expect high speed internet but not warp speed. The phone is equipped with Opera Mini Browser and Flash for internet use and you can also take advantage of the email client which allows for sending and receiving emails with attachments. However, this phone does not have a document editor so if you’re looking for a business phone, I’d suggest you look elsewhere.
Overall, the features of this phone are good and you can expect to enjoy using this phone for almost any purpose. However, there are a few negatives to this phone and one of them is the battery life. The phone is rather heavy but I can’t quite see why because the battery life isn’t great and the casing is made from plastic. For heavy mobile phone users this phone might become an annoyance due to its battery life but other than that this phone appears to have everything a mid range user would need.
Looks
In terms of its looks, this phone has a nice and clean design with curved edges and a smooth finish. The phone measures in at about 90mm by 45mm by 14mm in dimensions and is no where near as big as the 6500 Slide from Nokia. The phone is relatively heavy when compared with other phones of this size and is about 110 grams in weight. I’ve got to say that in terms of looks this phone is a much better looking phone than the 6500 Slide and although it is still a little large and heavy for a mid range phone it is very appealing and I think a lot of people will agree.
I’ve also seen that this phone is only available in Black at the moment which is a bit of a shame because it would be nice to see a phone like this available in a few other colours so that users have a chance to be a bit different. However, the phone does look good in Black and I think it’ll appeal to a wide range of users. All in all, the looks of the phone are good and I think that many people will prefer this phone to the 6500 Slide due to the smooth and soft edges and the glossy black finish.
Design
In terms of design, the Nokia 6600 Slide is a great looking phone and has a nice look and feel to it. The design of the software inside is good and I think it’ll appeal to a lot of people because the user interface is clear and easy to use. The design of the camera is good and the other features appear to work very well and I haven’t seen any software problems mentioned which is always a bonus. All in all, the design of this phone is ideal for personal users and I think the look and feel of the phone will sell well.
Overall
I have to say that I really like the Nokia 6600 Slide and I think a lot of people will realise that this phone is definitely worth the purchase. It has all you could need as a personal mid range user and I think that it’ll do very well in terms of sales. There are only a few downsides to this phone and the battery life could do with an upgrade. However, the features and applications all seem to work well together and I’ve seen no evidence of software problems so you can expect to enjoy this phone and all its features.
I’d recommend this phone to personal users and I will say that if you’re a business user and you’re looking for something that’ll help you keep up with work while you’re out of the office then you should probably look elsewhere. In terms of an overall opinion I think I’d have to say that this phone is an excellent device and is going to appeal to a lot of people. It’s pricing is definitely right and I think as a mid range phone it has all you could need and works very well as an overall mobile phone device.
All in all, the Nokia 6600 Slide is a great phone and I’d highly recommend it to personal users who are looking for a phone with some high tech features but who want an easy to use phone. This phone ticks a lot of boxes and does have a nice set of features which are well worth the purchase. The look and feel of the phone is also a major selling point and I think this phone is a high contender for most other mid range phones available in today’s mobile phone market.
