Nokia 6500 classic Review - Honest Nokia 6500 Classic reviews
If you want a lightweight and slim phone with an affordable price, then the 6500 classic is the one for you. This candy bar type phone is only 95 grams and 9.5mm thick. Classy and sophisticated color casings are available from black to bronze.
Nokia wants to position 6500 classic as a 3G fashion phone. It is so confusing that they named two phones 6500 (classic and slide), but these two mobiles are entirely different in its look and features.
The 6500 classic looks smart but it is not one of Nokia’s smart phones that use a Symbian operating system. Instead, it has the latest version of S40 (Series 40) interface that is a familiar operating system of a mobile phone.
It also has a two inch QVGA (240 x 320 pixels) display which shows 16.7 million colors. Furthermore, it has a camera with flash and 2 megapixels resolution. It is an MP3 player, dual-band 3G (850/2100 MHz) and has a stereo output that can be wired to a headphone. It gives 5.5 hours of talk time and 12.5 days of standby time which is impressive!
Aside from its power and looks, another striking feature of the Nokia 6500 classic is its big 1 GB internal memory. Imagine you do not need to carry memory cards anymore. If you are an average mobile phone user, this memory size will just be right for you. You can even use it as a memory stick if you connect it to a PC through a micro-USB connector.
One downside of the Nokia 6500 classic is that it does not support face-to-face video calling. This is unusual for a 3G phone. However, considering the mass market which is the target audience of this phone, this feature doesn’t matter. As long as it supports web browsing, fast audio and video downloads and content streaming, it is good for the public eye.
It’s sophisticated design, with an aluminum top half and curved edges give the phone a classy feel. It is slim in size yet it is not prone to slip in your hand, with measurements of 109.8 x 45 x 9.5 mm. The casing is a bit minimalist, with no controls or quick access keys on its side. It only has one Micro USB connector for all of its needs: data connectivity, charging the handset, and connecting the headphone. When you buy it, it includes a 3.5 mm headphone socket. It has an estimated price of £200.
