The Orange Boston is the mobile communications company’s own-branded Android smartphone. Manufactured by Foxconn, the Orange Boston is a low-entry handset aimed at those who enjoy messaging on their mobiles without having to break the bank to purchase the device in the first place. In fact, the rumour goes that the Boston will be available in the UK, Spain, Poland and Romania for one euro, on a contract.

 

Unlike Vodafone’s own-branded Android, which was also recently announced – the Vodafone 845 – the Orange Boston runs on the Android 1.6 OS rather than the new 2.1 OS. Internally, the Boston is powered by a 600MHz processor and 256MB RAM, so the phone should support multi-tasking and using the various features should be swift and seamless.

 

The Orange Boston has a 3.2 inch touchscreen and comes with a 5-megapixel camera onboard together with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS connection. There is also a 3.5mm audio connector and a microSD slot for expanding the memory.
