Orange Rio Review: First Look

The Orange Rio is a BlackBerry-styled phone but with a touchscreen and QWERTY keyboard mix, together with an affordable price tag. Designed to make communication that bit easier, the Rio is a Pay As You Go device expected to be available for about £55.

Larger, if a little thinner, than the Orange Lisbon, the Orange Rio weighs 95g which is still light for a full QWERTY phone. This should allow you to hold the phone and type messages comfortably and confidently.

There is a 2-megapixel camera onboard the Rio which has a video option, so you can shoot films and take snaps on this device. There are plenty of aural features too including an MP3 player and FM radio, together with a loud speaker for sharing songs with friends and a likely inclusion of a 3.5 audio jack for plugging in your earphones.

The internal memory can be boosted to up to 16GB via a microSD card, and with Bluetooth connectivity you can add, share and transfer songs, photos and videos effortlessly and quickly. The Orange Rio also supports Java so you should be able to download games and keep yourself entertained.

This 2G phone is anticipated for release very soon, and we will let you know all the details the moment we discover them.

This is an amazing phone and the touch screen and qwerty keyboard are very good for your money. The sound quality is very good and overall it is an excellent phone. The only slight downside is the power on/off button. it is on the top but it is not a raised button so you basically have to press it down with your nail which might be hard for people with big fingers! But overall I love this phone!

The Orange Rio is a great value phone but can be confusing and doesnt have the best battery life. The phone is brilliant value for money and keeps you well entertained with bluetooth, an mp3 player and many other things to do. The phone is very light wieght and confortable to slide into your pocket. Altogether a great phone for the money!

I got this phone yesterday and couldn´t be more happy. I think this is one of the best phones I have had and I have had the

Samsung Jet

in the past. My friend got a BlackBerry on the same day as me and she found the Rio just as good. I would seriously recommend this phone. I got the pink one.

This phone looks like a

BlackBerry Curve

. I like it how it has all of the keys on and a touchscreen. But it only has a 2mp camera - that isn´t good for peple who love taking photos. But if you love texting, i would recommend this phone.
