Samsung B7722
In a Word or Two
The Samsung B7722 is a 3G touchscreen phone which comes with dual SIM card capacity. This a great feature to have for people who have more than one phone (like a work and personal phone), or even for people who spend a lot of time in another country.
Display
The B7722 features a 3.2" resistive TFT screen with 256k colours and a sharp resolution of 240 x 400 pixels. The B7722 is slim and attractive and weighs just a mere 112g. Running on Samsung TouchWiz the phone is really easy to navigate and use. There is even an option to switch between left and right handed modes, and whichever option you go for the phone is very comfortable to use with one hand. You can easily switch between SIM cards with the simple touch of a button, rather than opening up the back and swapping them over.
Specifications
The B7722 benefits from Wi-Fi and 3G HSDPA support, making internet surfing a real joy wherever you happen to be. However, 3G support is only provided for one SIM card while the second SIM card is limited to 2G connections only. Wi-Fi is available for both SIM cards. Other great connectivity options included with the B7722 include Bluetooth and a USB 2.0 connection that can be used for transferring media from your home computer or other device. GPRS and EDGE are also supported.
The B7722 features a nifty 5 megapixel camera that can take some beautiful pictures. This comes with an LED flash included so that you can take pictures in darkened environments, and you can also record QVGA video at 30fps. The B7722 features a secondary camera on the front that can be used for making video calls over the 3G connection. With microSD cards you can store up to 8GB of pictures and video, or music to play on the phone´s media player.
The media player comes with support for a large range of music and video formats including MP3, WMA and AAC. You can transfer your own music over to the B7722 or you can listen to the latest tunes with the included FM radio. One nice little feature of the B7722 is that it allows you to record from the radio so that you can listen back to it later.
Aside from the dual SIM cards the B7722 provides many other ways of keeping in touch with friends and family, including SMS, MMS and Email, as well as support for various Instant Messaging clients and RSS feeds. There are many touch screen games that can be enjoyed on the B7722 and many more games can be downloaded from online.
Verdict
The B7722 looks very similar to many of Samsung´s other touchscreen phones, and this is the case in terms of specification too. The features present are fairly standard for a phone of this price range although the dual SIM card capability undoubtedly sets this handset apart from the rest. Another feature we particularly like and would like to see more of on other phones is the ability to record from the radio. Other than that the B7722 has many of the features you would expect to see from a midrange Samsung touchscreen phone.
