The brand new Samsung D980 is a great phone which offers users a unique capability of being able to use two SIM cards at the same time. This unique capability makes it ideal for business and personal use and means you won’t have to be fiddling around changing SIM cards and of course, only have to carry one mobile phone with you wherever you go. However, this phone is only tri-band and I think it would’ve been nice to see a phone that could carry a UK SIM card as well as an international SIM card so you can simply travel without having to change things around. Other than that, this phone has all you could need and is a great idea.

The phone also has Bluetooth and a media player which allows for listening to music and watching videos.

The phone also has a document viewer which makes it useful for business reasons as well and with the email client you can send and receive emails with attachments which is very handy for keeping up with work while you’re out of the office. Currently, the phone is only available in black which does limit users somewhat but again, black is a nice colour for this phone and it does make it sleek and elegant.
The look and feel of this phone is nice and you can almost feel the fashion statement that this phone makes. It’s a sleek and sophisticated handset which is definitely well made. The phone has a good look to it and I think you’re likely to get a lot of compliments when using this phone so prepare to be the envy of your friends. Also, this phone is a great practicality which means you get the best of both worlds - the phone is practical yet looks very stylish and sophisticated.

I have had this phone for over a month now and it is great. Especially for travelling the world as I keep my UK sim card fully active and have the local sim card of whichever country I am in as the default one. I only carry one phone but maintain total contact - excellent and it saves me loads of money too. I receive messages etc via my UK sim and can reply via the local Sim so much more cheaply than using full roaming with all the added costs..
By the way, this part of the first review is totally wrong "However, this phone is only tri-band and I think it would’ve been nice to see a phone that could carry a UK SIM card as well as an international SIM card so you can simply travel without having to change things around." - I do exactly that !!!

Very poor manual and zero post servicing in the US. Samsung US sends you to Samsung UK, who doesnt want to service as you are not a UK resident. I "bloody" nightmare (excuse the pun). And they send you off to Samsung Spain, who say they too dont service this phone. Phone books of both SIM cards are merged together (not good) languages besides English, are Thai, Malai and Japanese. Forget this if you speak a second Euro language (ie: Spanish, French, etc....no go) . If you like texting, this phone is NOT for you. They took the money and ran back to Korea. Unless you are a techy, I would run from this phone too.
