Introduction
The brand new, yet to be released Samsung F270 Beat is a music phone from Samsung which will probably do very well as it’s a cheap and easy to use music phone with a good set of features. The phone is also very good looking and as usual with Samsung phones it’s a stylish and sleek design. The phone has a great media player, FM radio and a 2 mega pixel camera which can record video as well. All in all, this is a basic music phone for personal users and it appears to be pretty nice so far, but we’ll see.

Specifications
The phone is equipped with a 2 mega pixel camera which can record video as well and is good enough to snap a few shots here and there, but obviously it’s not the best camera in a phone available. The phone’s major selling point is the media player which is very good and offers support for almost all formats of music and video including MP3, eAAC+, WMA and Mpeg4 and 3GP. This means you can listen to music whenever you want and you can also watch videos if you want to, while you’re on the move. Unfortunately, this phone doesn’t have a 3.5mm headphone jack which is a shame. 

However, the phone does have a good stereo speaker system which is good and if you use the Samsung headphones you’ll be able to hear the quality of the music from this phone. The phone also has dedicated music keys which make it quick and easy to access the music you want, when you want. You can also use the USB connection to transfer files to and from your PC and phone which makes uploading MP3’s to your phone easy and fast. The phone also has Bluetooth so you could use a Bluetooth headset if you like as well.

The Samsung F270 Beat also has a nice organiser as well as a good internet connection which allows you to browse the web and send and receive emails. However, this isn’t a 3G device so don’t expect warp speed downloads or browsing. The battery life of this phone is great which means you should be able to get a lot of music playback from this phone. Standby time and talk time are 330 hours and 9.5 hours respectively which is pretty incredible for a phone of this caliber and price. All in all, the features of this phone are good and it appears to have everything a basic personal user would need.  

Looks
In terms of looks, the Samsung F270 Beat has a nice and sleek design to it which should help the sales of this phone. The handset itself measures in at about 103.2mm by 48.2mm by 16.9mm which is pretty small and the phone weighs about 101grams which is relatively heavy for a basic to mid range phone but we’ll let Samsung off because it’s probably the battery which weighs down the phone and no one can complain about 9.5 hours of talk time. The looks of this phone are good and it’s a slide design which is very popular at the moment.

The phone has 60MB of embedded memory as well which is enough for a few songs and you can expand to up to 4GB with a memory stick/card so you should be able to store a lot of songs on the phone. The only downside with this phone is the lack of a 3.5mm headphone jack but the looks and design of the phone are overall very good. The front of the phone has a control on it which is very pleasing to the eye and the screen is large and of relatively good quality for a phone like this.

Design
In terms of design, this Samsung phone is very good and the software and applications all appear to be well made and designed. The phone has a good user interface with an intuitive operating system and it all appears to work seamlessly and smoothly together which is always a great thing for a phone like this. The design of the phone overall is very good and from outside to inside you can see the quality and the precision that has gone into the manufacturing. Samsung phones are always good but this one is especially good and offers a nice and solid handset with a good set of features that are well designed.

Overall
All in all, the Samsung F270 Beat is a great looking phone which offers a great set of high quality features. The phone is marketed as a low to mid range phone and is priced accordingly. Because of the great price and the high quality features, it’s likely that this phone will do very well in terms of sales. It is set for released any day now so you should be able to get your hands on one soon. The phone will probably be very cheap on PAYG and will almost certainly be available for free on most networks if you choose a contract plan.

The phone’s features are great and the camera, media player and FM radio are probably the best features of the phone; along with the design of the handset. You can expect to enjoy using this phone as well because it’s a simple Samsung user interface which is always easy to use and learn. We would definitely recommend this phone to personal users who enjoy music and who are looking for a basic or mid range phone on a budget. This phone has a lot to offer for the price and it should be very popular once it’s widely available.

Overall, the Samsung F270 Beat is a great phone and we’d definitely suggest that personal users buy this phone. If you’re looking for a basic to mid range phone and you want a good quality music player then this phone could be the one for you. However, we should say that you can probably get a good walkman phone from Sony Ericsson for about the same price but if you like Samsung designs then this phone will be ideal for you and your needs.
