The Samsung M3310 is a fashionable phone with a unique look. Available in either black or white, the phone has hints of red running through it which give it a smart edge. The front of the phone is dominated by the 2.1 inch screen with minimal buttons beneath including the circular navigation key, music controls and call/call end keys.

 

The uniqueness, however, comes from the dual slide ability of the Samsung M3310. If you slide the back casing down, the normal keypad is revealed; slide it up and the stereo speakers are uncovered. This phone is essentially a music mobile phone which, combined with its contemporary design, will especially appeal to you if you enjoy playing songs out loud on your mobile phone.

 

 

Music is the core feature of the Samsung M3310, which is part of the Samsung M range of phones including the M2510 and the M2310. The quality of music you can listen to on this phone is to a high standard, whether you prefer to hear songs through a headset or using the inbuilt speakers. There is Digital Natural Sound Engine (DNSe) support to enhance the audio experience.

 

You can download tunes using the Bluetooth connection or online and the preset options let you choose how to playback music. For example, there is a Concert Hall mode for more classical tunes or a Street Mode for more modern beats. The equaliser gives you control over the bass and clarity for pitch-perfect precision. There is also an FM radio with RDS (radio data system) for reading radio station updates along with listening, on the Samsung M3310.

 

Communication wise, you can text, send multimedia messages, email or chat via social networking sites online. The 3.1-megapixel camera lets you take decent pictures which you can then post on sites like Facebook or Twitter, or send them to friends and family on email or MMS. The camera also supports a videoing function.

 

 

With such impressive music ability on the Samsung M3310, it is a shame the internal memory is only 40 MB. However, there is a microSD slot inbuilt and the storage space can be expanded up to 8GB.

 

Although there is support for the Openwave web browser for accessing websites and surfing the net, the Samsung M3310 does not have Wi-Fi or 3G functions for added flexibility.
