Samsung B7300 OmniaLITE deals

Overall

A fantastic mid-range phone that managed to pack in all the expected smartphone features and more into a palm-friendly handset. Slim, thin and very light, the Omnia Lite B7300 lives up to its name. Not as heavy-hitting in terms of performance as other handsets in the Omnia range, but that´s exactly the point, and means you´re more than likely going to find yourself a bargain.

The two major things to note here are that although launching with Windows Mobile 6.1, there´ll be a full and free upgrade to version 6.5 as soon as that is ready to roll out, meaning you´ll have the most uptodate access to all the usual Microsoft Suite and other features you´d expect. And on top of that, this phone will be launching with version 2.0 of the impressive TouchWiz, Samsung´s intuitive and slick interface that´s been designed specifically with touchscreen users in mind. This means whether you´re typing message, scrolling through web pages or flipping between applications, it´ll all feel as natural as can be. Your fingers will be happier than they´ve ever been before.

As with most Samsung´s these days, the B7300 also comes with a plethora of features and apps designed to make the most out of the onboard GPS. All to often it´s one of the most overlooked gadgets on a phone, but with the included software you´ll be able to find places of interest in your area, search for a bite to eat and even store favourite locations for later reference.

The included memory might not be huge at 250MB, but this can be upgraded to a whopping 32GB using MicroSD cards, which should be more than enough for all of your needs.

Look and Design

Thanks to the streamlining of the most power-hungry elements of the high-end Omnia phones, the Lite B7300 is a great looking, great feeling phone. With a choice of two colours, brushed metal finishing and a really distinctive geometric patterning on the rear (where the camera lens is) this is a phone that not only performs well but looks great. And at just over 100g it is also one of the lightest smartphones you´ll find.

Thanks to the TouchWiz interface, it´s not only the physical parts of the phone that look great. The interface is smooth, the animations perfect and the overall feel of the phone as you navigate around its functions is really impressive. Add to that an incredible 3D mediaplayer and this is a stunning all round package.
