Well, what can we say... it doesn´t get much cooler than this. We know watchphones have been around before (indeed, Samsung introduced the world’s first watchphone ten years ago, the SPH-WP10) but it´s been quiet in recent years. Until now that is, because this thing is an absolute stonker of a product, and one that people are going to be talking about for a long time to come.

It´s hard to look at some of those stats and specs above and not be blown away. Most of them, in fact, could quite feasibly be lifted straight from any normal sized phone currently on the market. But perhaps most impressive of all is that the S9110 sports a TFT capacitive touchscreen. Using the very latest advanced surface mounting technology technology, Samsung have somehow managed to squeeze this very functional screen onto the watch while keeping the whole package less than 12mm thick.

 

In fact, given the recent fashion for watches with larger faces (either digital binary style retro watches, or some of those huge pilot-style things that celebrities wear), we think that no one is even going to guess this thing is a phone until they see you talking into it... and at that point they´re either very, very impressed, or they call the men in white coats to come and get you

 

Not only that, but the S9110 also boasts an MP3 player meaning you could feasibly have 3 devices in one on your wrist. Add to that Outlook support in order to keep on top of your email, Bluetooth 2.1 for connection to devices like stereo headsets and voice recognition and you can see that the Koreans have produced one of the most remarkable pieces of technology for some time.

 

 

Conclusion

 

Whether you´re someone who really will find this thing useful – by cutting down on the number of devices you own / wear, or by just making your mobile communication device all the more smaller – or if you´re someone who just wants to own (and show off!) the very latest, most trendy piece of kit in town, the S9110 is not going to disappoint. Not by a long way. Truly remarkable.
