Samsung D900 review
Introduction
The Samsung D900 was released in June of 2006 and was the upgrade from the D600 phone and is similar in shape and design but contains some better features such as a 3.15 mega pixel camera. The Samsung D900 was a great phone at the time of its release in 2006 and still holds a place in the market today. One thing that is really good about this phone is its battery life. The phone has a talk time of about 6.5 hours which is very good and is actually better than most mobile phones today- the standby time of the phone is about 260 hours.
Specifications
This phone has a good range of features and even today this phone manages to hold a place in the market and is actually better in terms of features when compared with some of the new phones available on the market. The features such as the 3.15 mega pixel camera keep the phone in the market in a prime place. The phone’s camera also has some integrated features such as auto focus and a flash and you can also record video with this camera. The phone has a nice layout to it as well and the features are easy to use and rarely delay or freeze.
The phone also has a TV out function which means you can enjoy your photos and videos on a large screen if you want to. The phone also has a good range of downloadable games for you to enjoy. You can also use SMS, MMS and email. The email facility on this phone is basic but it does work and you can use the high speed internet Class 10 EDGE which works well enough to receive a few emails a day. This is a good feature which is useful for almost any user whether for personal or business use. I’d say this phone is definitely more suited for a personal user but there are a few features for a business user.
The document viewer for example is a good feature for business users and can help you keep up to date with colleagues via email while you’re out of the office. The phone also has an MP3 player which is able to read files of various formats including AAC and ACC + which is good for a phone of this age. The phone also has a good range of organiser features which help keep your life in order with applications such as an alarm clock, reminders and memos. This phone has a good range of features all of which work well together.
Looks
The phone has a good look to it for an old phone. It looks similar to the D600 but a little larger and a little more sophisticated and of course newer; but only by a few years. The handset itself is 103.5mm by 51mm by 12.9mm in dimensions and is about 85 grams in weight so is by no means a big phone and is actually very attractive – even today with all the sleek phones on the market – this phone still has a great look to it. If you were carrying this phone today you’d still get compliments and people would assume it was a new phone.
The phone is available in three colours; black with silver, blue or red with gray. This makes the phone ideal for personal use because it is easily customizable. The phone is also able to download ringtones of polyphonic or MP3 format and you can download wallpapers and screensavers for the phone to make it more suited to your needs and style. The buttons and controls for this phone are easy to use and make the phone appear high tech and sophisticated and nothing is over complicated which is good for a mobile phone.
Design
The design of the phone is a great shape and the colours available are good. The internal design of the phone in terms of the software and the applications is very good. All the applications appear to work well together and there is little or no delay or freezing up of software. The internal design matches the exterior in that it is stylish and can still compete in today’s market, even though the phone was released in 2006 which is nearly 2 years a go. You’d think that phones from 2 years a go would struggle in today’s market but Samsung have always been good at releasing state of the art phones.
Overall
All in all, the Samsung D900 is a great phone and even to this day the features rival some of the new phones on the market. The features are all very good and especially the 3.15 mega pixel camera which allows you to take some pretty nice photos which you can then share with your friends and family using the USB cable or the email facility. The phone’s entertainment features such as the camera, the media player and the internet make this phone of high quality.
Compared to other phones of the year 2006 this phone is very high quality and full of high tech features which allow users to experience and enjoy a good range of entertainment on their mobile phone. The Samsung D900 is a great phone and even today if you were to purchase this phone you’d really enjoy the features and would be able to enjoy an exciting experience with this phone. The phone may not be brand new but it certainly has all the features that a basic user would need. I think the most exciting thing about this phone is the fact that it has a 3.15 mega pixel camera.
I like this phone and I’m very impressed with the high quality features and the layout of the phone and all the software. I don’t think I’ve seen a phone as good as this for that year in a long time. I’d say that if you’re in the market for a cheap and cheerful phone but want a few features which actually rival the new phones then this phone will be ideally suited to you. The design and layout is good and many of the high quality features are easy to use and the camera is especially good fun – I’d recommend this phone to anyone looking for a cheap and easy to use phone.
