Are you fond of taking pictures yet do not want to bring your digital camera all the time?  Why stop yourself from having fun, when you can have a mobile phone with a great digital camera feature rolled into one and at an affordable price too.  Meet the Samsung G800.  It is a slider phone that comes from the Samsung line of mobiles with high resolution cameras, big memory storage, and high-end connectivity options.

If you slide the lid upwards, you will see the flat number pad which is large and easy to use.  If it is opened, the phone is measured at 135mm tall.  When closed it is 101.5mm, and 52mm wide.  The thickness measures at 22mm if you include the protruding camera lens at its back.  Though big and heavy at 125 grams, its design can be considered stylish as it sports a brushed metal finish.  Its dimensions are similar to Nokia’s N95, whose bulkiness did not stop it from being a bestseller.

The G800 is endowed with 3G HSDPA connections which maximize surfing and make is capable of download speeds of 7.2Mb/s.  It also has Bluetooth wireless A2DP technology that will allow you to connect with other devices such as headphones, headsets, computers and printers.  The GPRS and EDGE technology allows you to enjoy data transfer at high speeds, as long as the device is compatible.

Of course the usual MP3 player which supports all audio files is integrated in the handset.  Other entertainment options such as FM radio and downloadable games are also present.  It has 160mb of internal memory and allows you to store up to 1,000 phone entries.  The battery has a talk time of 3 hours and 20 minutes, and a standby time of 220 hours.  Other features of the model include face detection, built-in hands free, document viewer, and TV output.

This mobile phone is built primarily as a camera phone.  It has a 5-megapixel sensor, auto focus, Xenon flash, LED focus-assist light, red-eye reduction, 3x optical zoom, and image stabilization.  Its features can be as close as a standard digital camera.

The handset front is 2.4 inches with a glossy finish.  With just a slight push, the user can open the mobile phone and access advanced features with an ergonomic keypad.  The model comes in two colors – silver and black.  Aside from these advanced features, the G800 makes sure that it is consistent in bringing you crisp, clear calls.

The Samsung G800 should be called the Samung Brick. Before purchase , I did take a look online for other reviews and all looked ok. However when it can through, I was very surprised at the actually depth of the phone, it was a little bigger that I expected. The major cons with this phone include: 1. Camera cover on the back sticks out and looks really out of place 2. I have had one of the quick button of the fron as O2 Active, and recently I seem to be unlocking the phone in my pocket and accessing the internet. Very annoying and can get a little expensive. 3. Good 5.0 Megapixel camera, hwoever a large percentage of pictures blur. It origionally takes a good photo, but actually saves the photo a few frames later! Appart from that, its actually an OK phone. It has the standard easy to use graphical interface provided by Samsung.
