Sony Ericsson W890i Review - read honest Sony Ericsson W890i reviews
Introduction
The Sony Ericsson W890i is a new walkman phone from Sony Ericsson and is similar to the W880i but it a little larger and has a few more features. Apart from the obvious media player features and the amazing music playing facilities the phone has a 3.2 mega pixel camera and high speed internet capabilities. You also get a 2GB memory card with this phone whereas the W880i only gives you a 1GB memory stick. This means you can store a lot more music on this phone to enjoy whenever you like wherever you are which makes this phone ideal for entertainment and personal users.
Specifications
The Sony Ericsson W890i has a great range of features including a 3.2 mega pixel camera and a range of integrated features such as video recording which you can then share using the video blog application which allows you to upload your photos and videos to a blog of your choice. You can even share your photos on websites like Facebook using the high speed internet. The phone’s walkman features are probably the best features and include a variety of applications such as SensMe which allows you to play music according to your mood.
The phone also has a feature which allows you to subscribe to podcasts on your mobile so you can keep up to date with radio shows, TV podcasts or any other type of podcast you like. Of course, the phone also has all the basic features such as SMS, MMS and voice calling. You can also take advantage of video calling so you can see who you’re talking to. The phone also has a feature called Track ID which allows you to record a few seconds of a music track and Sony will then tell you the artist and song title which can be a very useful feature in bars and clubs.
This phone really does have a great range of features and the high speed internet is one of them. You can send and receive emails with attachments which is yet another way to share your experiences. Using the 3.2 mega pixel camera you can take photos and record video clips and then share them with your friends. This can be really fun and useful if you spend a lot of time travelling or away from home. The phone’s features all work well together and the high quality large display allows you to enjoy the features in digital clarity.
Looks
Like I said before, this phone is similar to the W880i but is a little larger. It measures in at about 104mm by 47mm by 10mm in dimensions and weighs about 78 grams so is still a very small and slim line phone. The phone is available in three colours; sparkling silver, mocha brown and espresso black so you can choose a colour which suits your style. The phone has a very good look to it and is sleek and stylish. The style is still of a walkman phone by Sony Ericsson so has the walkman logo on the top and the buttons are smaller and look stylish and sophisticated.
I’d say that this phone is a very good looking phone when compared with several others on the market. For a walkman phone it’s very slim line and looks very sleek. The smooth edges and slim line design is very good and makes the phone appear more sophisticated and stylish than other walkman phones. Because you can choose from three colours it means you can customise the look of the phone to suit your style and your fashion which is great and I have to say that I do like that about Sony Ericsson; they always seem to offer more than one colour.
Design
The design of the phone is really good and all the internal features seem to work well together. The software used is state of the art and most of the applications are of superior quality and work very smoothly with the rest of the phone. I’d say that the outside of the phone matches the inside in terms of quality and style and I think if you own this phone you’re likely to get a lot of compliments about the design on the outside and of the features inside the phone.
Overall
All in all, this walkman phone has a great range of additional features. It has a good range of entertainment features and I’d say that this phone is much more suited to personal users than business users. There are really no business features apart from the organiser tools and they won’t get you very far. Of course, the email feature will come in handy but I wouldn’t use it as purely a business phone – you’d be wasting the entertainment features.
The entertainment features such as the camera and the blogging applications and of course the media player is great and you’re likely to receive a lot of compliments if you own this phone. The ideal user of this phone will be someone who loves music and who really enjoys to use their phone as an entertainment centre. You’ll be able to take advantage of features such as the SensMe mood music, Track ID and of course the video blogging feature. This phone really does have all you need to enjoy an entertainment evening or day with your phone.
The colours available for this phone are also good and I’d say that you are really able to choose one that suits your style easily. If you’re looking for a phone that has entertainment, music and visual features like a camera then you don’t need to look any further. This phone really does have it all and it is a good phone from Sony Ericsson. The personal user will be able to get a lot from this phone and although it is similar to the W880i I’d say it’s much better and I guess that’s why they called it the W890i because it’s the upgrade from the W880i.
