Vodafone 360 M1 Review
In a word or two
The Vodafone 360 M1 is a smartphone with the Vodafone 360 service inbuilt, and is a lighter, cheaper option to the H1 phone.
The Design
The Vodafone 360 M1 is the second phone in the Vodafone 360 range and offers those on a smaller budget the chance to enjoy Vodafone’s social networking service. Smaller than the H1, the M1 is a neat looking phone with a simple design and the choice of black, white or red casing.
The screen has been reduced along with the price, to 3.2 inches. This is still a large touchscreen and great for enjoying all the Vodafone 360 M1 has to offer. Although the picture quality is less impressive than the H1, the images displayed are clear and colourful.
The front of the Vodafone 360 M1 has three buttons for quick and direct access to your timelines, contacts and applications. You press the relevant button to navigate where you want to go, and then use the touchscreen to scroll and select your options. The virtual keyboard is QWERTY and has a predictive mode for sending text messages easily.
Vodafone 360 M1 Specifications
The Vodafone 360 M1 is run on the Linux-based platform LiMo and has a 3D interface for a quirky and fun mobile experience. The address book display is 3D and the clever technology keeps track of who you chat with most so your closest friends appear at the front. This is a handy feature as it means you can go into the contacts screen and nearly always find the person you want – a feature helpful for business too as the phone will show details of regular clients at the front. Another useful feature is the ability to view Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF documents and files on your Vodafone 360 M1.
The applications can be customised with your favourites and your preferred order. You can move the icons around easily, delete any downloaded ones you no longer like and add new ones through the Shop.
Social networking is supported by Vodafone 360 service software so you can sync all your different sites and accounts, accessing them straight from the phone. You simply need to register with Vodafone 360 on the phone or online to begin enjoying this 360-degree networking. Chat via Facebook, MSN and Google Talk, and search for other Vodafone 360 members to connect with. All your friends’ details will be added to your Vodafone 360 M1 so you can interact with them through multiple channels.
The Vodafone 360 M1 comes with a media player for music and video playback. You can also create playlists and sync your phone with Windows Media Player – and with Bluetooth and USB connection, transferring data and songs is straightforward.
Considerations
The features of the Vodafone 360 M1 are lighter than on the H1. The screen is smaller and the internal storage has also been reduced, from 16GB to just 1GB –although you can expand the memory up to 32GB via a microSD card.
Verdict
If you want an economical smartphone with Vodafone 360 technology installed – albeit with slightly reduced features compared to the H1 – then the Vodafone 360 M1 is the right choice.
