Sony Ericsson G900 review - Honest Sony Ericsson G900 reviews

Featured Review

The 2008 Mobile World Congress introduced a lot of remarkable mobile phones from the major manufacturers. One of the well-received mobile phones was the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1. However, the G900, which is the one with the greatest sales potential and high user-friendliness, almost went unnoticed.

The G900 is one of the most powerful in Sony Ericsson’s lineup of compact and consumer-friendly smartphones. Consumer-friendliness isn’t usually the main feature of smartphones, but the company is looking to improve this aspect in their products in order to make them more flexible and appealing to the average user.

Measuring 106 x 49 x 13 mm and weighing only 99 g (which are the exact dimensions of the lower-end G700), it’s such a wonder how Sony Ericsson was able to pack the G900 with more features. The G900 uses the latest version of Symbian as its operating system, making it powerful.

Another interesting feature of the G900 is its 2.4-inch 262k-color touchscreen. It aids in the integration of a one-touch navigation system that makes the selection of menu items quick and easy. It allows for the scribbling of notes using its Notes application that makes use of electronic Sticky Notes that come in different colors. It also features handwriting recognition that is useful when composing a text message. Furthermore, the touchscreen of the G900 aids in imaging. When taking photos using the integrated 5-megapixel camera (that features autofocus and image stabilizing), the user will be able to select his/her desired focus point by merely tapping the spot of choice on the screen.

The G900 has a sliding feature that protects its camera. Sliding its top portion upwards will reveal both the lens of the camera and its LED flash, which is useful for taking photos in dimly lit environments.

Aside from these fascinating imaging features, the C207 presents audio capabilities, making it a portable entertainment system. It comes bundled with a music player that supports various audio formats. It also has an FM radio with RDS, meaning you can view radio information while you’re tuned in to a station.

The G900 offers great connectivity options such as Bluetooth 2.0, 3G support, Wi-Fi, and GPRS. It also allows for as long as four hours of talk time and 13 days in standby mode. It comes with an internal memory of abut 160 MB but still gives room for expansion; it supports Sony Ericsson’s Memory Stick Micro format (M2).

With all of these features squeezed in the G900, it can be said that it is an all-around smartphone fit for any consumer.
