Joining the likes of LG and ZTE, Samsung has chosen to officially announce two new handsets for its popular Galaxy range before the start of Mobile World Congress 2012 in Barcelona next week.
The Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 and Galaxy Mini 2 will launch in Europe imminently, with the Ace 2 coming to the UK in April and the Mini 2 first reaching France in March before being released globally.
Following in the footsteps of their predecessors, both these smartphones run on Android 2.3 software and come with some decent enhancements.

The Galaxy Ace 2 builds on the Ace Plus and original Ace models with some impressive specs packed into an affordable handset. Powered by a dual-core 800MHz chip and with HSDPA 14.4 connectivity, the Ace 2 supports multitasking and swift browsing. There is also a 1500mAh battery, 4GB of internal storage, 3.8-inch WVGA display, 5-megapixel camera, a range of Samsung Hubs and ChatON services.
The Galaxy Mini 2 comes with an 800MHz processor, 3.27-inch HVGA display, 1300mAh battery, 3-megapixel camera, Social Hub and Music Hub, and ChatON.
There’s no word at this stage about pricing, but we expect both the Ace 2 and Mini 2 to arrive with wallet-friendly price tags. After all, the original Ace and Galaxy Mini can be yours from as little as £15 per month on contract.
