The iPhone 5 was unveiled on Wednesday and will on sale in the UK and many other countries next Friday (21st September). If you want to get your hands on the new iPhone on the day that it is released without queuing for hours outside your local Apple store you can pre-order your own iPhone 5 from today. We have already ordered ours ready to have a play around with next week and we look forward to bringing you a full review then.
The phone can be pre-ordered from all of the major networks including T-Mobile, Orange, Vodafone, Three, O2, and also directly from the Apple Store. None of these will be able to offer LTE with the iPhone 5 just yet as LTE has yet to roll out in the UK, and the only UK network to get LTE in the near future is EE, which is not quite up and running.
EE’s LTE service will first become available in Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Derby, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Hull, Leeds, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Nottingham, Newcastle, Sheffield and Southampton by the end of the year and then slowly rolled out to the rest of the country into 2013.
So for the time being it seems, we will not be able to enjoy one of the core new features of the iPhone 5. Still, the larger screen and iOS 6 should give us plenty to play around with in the meantime.
