Overall
It may be one of the simplest phones you´ll see released this year, but there´s a very good reason for that: the price! You simply won´t be able to find a cheaper handset or better deal for a phone with a full QWERTY keyboard. So if you´re a keen emailer, constant texter, or avid status updater, then your busy little thumbs might be made very happy indeed by this thing.

It´s fair to say that this phone is as interesting for what it doesn´t feature than what it does. There´s no 3G or WiFi, meaning that the standard EDGE / GPRS is the only way to hook up to the internet. There´s no GPS, so no working out your location or using any kind of navigational software. And there´s nothing like the accelerometers or other such fancy things found in other recently released phones. But this is all part of a very deliberate ploy by LG to release an absolute bargain basement phone that does just what you want of it, and no more.
The main focus of the phone then is that keyboard, and everything that you can do with it. With several apps and widgets pre-installed on the phone, you´ll find access to sites such as Facebook and Twitter almost instantaneous, meaning you can send messages or update your status almost immediately. Obviously this isn´t access to the full, graphics and photo-heavy version of Facebook, but if you just want to let the world know what´s going on in text form then that´s exactly what you can do here. And the phone also has all the usual software for SMS and emails, two things that if you use regularly you´ll find doing so with the physical keyboard an absolute pleasure.
The other good thing about how streamlined this phone is inside is how that means it´s also extremely streamlined on the outside too. It´s as thin and stylish as even the newest smartphones because it simply doesn´t have to pack in a bunch of chips and gadgets. The black/blue design is also very tasteful and you wouldn´t know to look at it at all just how cheap this phone is.
Conclusion
You´ll pretty much know straight away if you think this phone is something you want in your life. Just have a look at your thumb tips... if they´re red raw that means you´re someone who texts, emails and uses other typing functions all the time. So do your thumbs a favour, have a look at investing in the LG GW300!

Just bought the new LG GW300 today from o2, very pleased with the phone, I'm no phone buff but on the features it says IM which I can't find at all, and there is no built in Facebook app..... do I have to download them??? Very nice phone tho lightweight and decent volume for your music.......

Looks like a Blackberry at half the price
One thing that is bugging me is that the plastc backing. It keeps clicking and slightly moving when I use the right hand side of the keyboard.
Not likin the fact that it is missing a timer and stopwatch. All other cheap phones have them
Not the best phone, however is what I'd expect for only £79!
love it just got one on the 17 october and its a keeper..it so slick slim and think it looks better than the blackberry..silver & black with a touch of red on the sides was the colour i got ..and it jus heavy!!! camera boom!!! keyboard booom!! built in facebook ace!!! mp3!!! bluetooth..video etc etc...love dis phone...peeeps at work r like wow!!!! it so good to have a new sliiick phone dat nobody else has!!!!.Lggw300.. i recommend it..came out august 2009..!!! go get one..itlooks like a blackberry but much better appearane very slim line silver and black sliiick style...love it.!!!! 19/10/09

erm, im wondering on whether to get this phone. based on looks and design it seems like the way to go. it has facebook which is amazing because i am the type who logs stragith on to facebook and can go on for hours. on past phones there havent been any type of keyboard like this one and im excited to have a go. my friend has the LG KS360 and i loved that keyboard bu ti didnt like the way it slided out but ow there is a phone that doesnt slide out. for a good pirce, the LG GW300 resembles very much the BLACK BERRY! it has a slot for a memory stick which gives you instant accsess to music and photos. i am hoping to get this phone for christmas, if i persuade my dad :) x

this phone is amazing!! it's better than the ks360!!! the features are amazing the looks are amazing and the looks are amazing!!! i dont see why anyone would hate this phone
this phone is great it has everything but its only perfect for non facebook users and constant internet users but texting and ringing people and just taking pictures theres nothing wrong with that, i've bought it last week and i bet i will not get sick of it or want another phone anytime soon, you would think that the keyboard would be hard to use with the small butons but its something you pick up in a couple of days time. my 14 year old daughter has got it and its really funtional i wasn't sure on her getting it but i think its one of the simplist phones shes had theres no sensetive touch screen, its not gimicy or anything just a very simple version of the blackberry without the business in it. i would highley recomend it!!!
