With only a few weeks between now and Mobile World Congress 2012, the rumour mill has gone into overdrive once more.

We have not one, but three upcoming handset rumours, all anticipated to take a bow during MWC at the end of this month.

Sony has just joined the long line of manufacturers set to make announcements during MWC, having sent out press invites with the slogan “Find out what’s new and what’s next” (thanks to Phandroid for the heads up).

Judging by the invite, it’s new Xperia smartphones in the pipe line – but the identity of the upcoming Xperia phone is as-yet unknown.

Of course, it’s not long since Sony unveiled the Xperia S during CES, and we can’t wait to see what the company follows up this advanced Android with.

And if it’s big hitters you want, they don’t come much bigger than the Samsung Galaxy Note. Introduced last September, this Samsung device’s vast 5.3-inch Super AMOLED display coupled with top-notch specs caused quite a stir – and now its successor, dubbed the Galaxy Note S, is expected to land at MWC.

The guys over at ItProPortal don’t have many details for us on the Galaxy Note’s successor, although it’s likely to run on Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS – after all, the current model is due this upgrade in Q1 2012. But you can expect some pretty tasty features, such as a quad-core processor and impressive camera.

Finally, it seems the BlackBerry Curve 9320 smartphone is set for an imminent release. Spotted by CrackBerry on T-Mobile’s accessory site, the latest Curve device was previously known about thanks to RIM’s leaked roadmap. However, the April release date certainly looks realistic, if a major UK network is already listing accessories for the upcoming BlackBerry!

Which phone are you hoping to see at MWC 2012?
