Samsung announced via its official Facebook page that the Galaxy S2 will now be receiving an update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich in Poland, Hungary and Sweden and this update will “gradually roll out to other markets” in Europe soon. Unfortunately this statement did not confirm any date for a UK upgrade. After a few false starts we can now confirm that Galaxy S2 owners in the UK will be able to upgrade to ICS on March 19th, depending on their network.

According to an official statement: “Samsung UK can confirm that the roll out of Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) on Galaxy S II will be available from week commencing 19th March, however the availability of software upgrades in the UK will be dependent upon each network’s own software approvals process.”
