You can take a quick gander at what the iPhone 5 may look like when it lands in the coming months thanks to leaked images of the built new iPhone.
Or at least, this is what the latest photos purported to be of the next-generation iPhone claim to show.
Uploaded to the Japanese iPhone repair shop iLab Factory, the snaps are said to show the upcoming Apple handset, fully assembled.
The put-together black iPhone 5 clearly displays some of the features mentioned in earlier leaks and rumours – including the smaller 19-pin dock connector and larger 4-inch display.
According to the site, the home button has been tweaked and now boasts an improved finish.
The two-toned aluminium back has also been spotted before, and is said to have a premium feel and thinner nature. Some reports point to the next iPhone being as much as 1.4mm slimmer than the current 4S model so, again, this seems to fit with previous expectations.
If the exterior of the iPhone 5 is correct, it certainly looks high-quality and smart. However, as with all rumours, we obviously can’t be sure the smartphone that materialises later this year will resemble the one shown in these pictures.
The leaked parts claim to show the design of the new iPhone and how it will look when it’s built. But the inside of the device is not complete – the site’s snaps how just the power flex cable, flex sensor cables and home button cables installed together with various screw holes for holding it all in place.
The site notes 3 screw holes on the back plate for holding the display in place, and 4 screw holes on the right side and 6 on the left which are probably for keeping the internal parts secure.
Production of the next-generation iPhone is said to have already started, with the likely launch date expected to be September.
