HTC Touch 2 deals on contract

HTC Touch 2 deals

Taiwan-based mobile phone maker HTC markets a fitting successor to its highly successful Touch smartphone with the new HTC Touch 2 which is also known as HTC T3333 Touch2 in other markets.

Sporting a stylish touchscreen form factor, the new Touch expands on the HTC touchscreen stable on the Windows mobile platform as a hedge while going overboard with newer Android handsets offering its predominantly smartphone markets with choices on these two.

Feature Set

Powered by the same 528 MHz Qualcomm MSM7225 processor used by many of its handsets and running the Windows Mobile 6.5 Pro, the new Touch gets a quad band GSM radio with class 10 GPRS/EDGE speeds of up to 236.8 Kbps.

It also gets a dual band UMTS radio on 3G with HSDPA at 7.2 Mbps speeds for a fast internet browsing and downloading experience on a 3G data plan. It supports hotspot surfing at 54 Mbps speeds with WiFi 802.11b/g as well as other high speeds data transfer speeds with Bluetooth 2.1 and miniUSB 2.0 for wireless and wired options, respectively.

It also comes with SatNav functionality with an integrated GPS receiver that supports Assisted GPS. The display features gets a 2.8-inch TFT LCD resistive touchscreen now common in many affordable touchscreen handsets, smart or not.

It comes with an average QVGA resolution and a 65k color support typical of all Windows smartphones. Its imaging is likewise average at 3 megapixel resolution with no autofocus and LED flash with just a CIF video recording at 30fps.

Despite having a novel TouchFLO finger swiping navigation and a touch-sensitive zoom bar, if there’s any feature that betrays the HTC Touch 2 to be a mid-range smartphone, its display and imaging gives it away.

The HTC Touch 2 comes with a 512 MB ROM and a 256 BM RAM for its Windows OS and gets a nearly unlimited phonebook capacity for contacts and call records. You also get microSD memory expansion for up to 32 GB for all your multimedia files.

About multimedia, it has a stereo FM radio with RDS and a capable media player for all the popular media content codecs out there. It also sports a 3.5mm headphone jack for wired stereo listening while its A2DP profile support on Bluetooth allows using wireless Bluetooth stereo headsets.

It gets a standard Lithium-ion battery rated at 1000 mAh capacity for up to 7.5 hours of talk time in GSM mode and standby time of up to 500 hours when fully charged.
