The LG GT350 is a mobile phone designed with social networking at its core.

The Design

The LG GT350 has a youthful design with rounded edges and bright colour choices which include aqua blue and purple as well as black and light silver. Downloadable themes are available for decorating the look of your phone and there are dedicated keys for accessing social networking sites straight from the slide-out keyboard. With the GT350, you are only a press and a swipe away from chatting online with your friends.

The follow-up to the popular KS360 mobile, the LG GT350 hopes to appeal to a similar audience with its upgrades. Physically, the screen is bigger than on its predecessor, at 3 inches, and the touch-sensitiveness has been extended for the whole of the interface and not restricted like on the KS360. The keyboard has been enhanced too, and there are now four rows of keys to support all your texting, typing and instant messaging. All the extra buttons are in stark contrast to the LG Mini which features virtually no physical buttons.

The screen resolution has also been improved on the LG GT350 and you can enjoy all the media features the phone has to offer in high quality. This is especially good if you like watching videos on your phone or playing games – the GT350 has motion-controlled games which are supported by the inbuilt accelerometer, letting you turn the screen to landscape according to the image you are viewing.

Specifications

If social networking is an important function of your mobile phone, you should really like the LG GT350. With one press of the screen you can open apps for Twitter or Facebook, and all your messages, status updates etc are streamed to your home screen so you can easily manage your social life. And not forgetting the shortcut keys on the physical QWERTY keyboard which means one press of the key and you’re away, interacting online.

Sharing is an option on the LG GT350 as any pictures you take on the phone’s 3.15-megapixel camera can be uploaded straight onto social networking sites. The camera comes with an LED flash so you won’t be hampered by lighting conditions. There is also a video option and the media player is good for playing back your footage, as well as listening to music. When it comes to music, you have the added choice of tuning into your favourite radio station via the FM radio.

Communication wise, the LG GT350 won’t let you down. You can enjoy threaded text messages, which means you view texts per contact as one long conversation – this feature is also found on the iPhone. For instant messaging, the phone supports Google Talk and Windows Live; and there is push email so you get your emails as people send them to you.

There is no Wi-Fi support on the LG GT350.

Verdict

The LG GT350 has some friendly additional features on its predecessor combined with the same youthful design. This phone is a good choice for a low-cost social networking touchscreen mobile.
