In a word or two

The LG T300 Cookie is a compact phone designed for a younger audience or those looking to buy their first touchscreen device.

The Design

Compact and cute, the LG T300 Cookie has an unusually square design with a central 2.4 inch screen. The LG T300 was originally called the LG Wink handset, and was launched alongside the Style and 3G phones. Also known as the Cookie Lite, the T300 focuses on social networking, messaging and an affordable price tag – just like the other two, only this is the smallest of the three mobiles.

Following in the footsteps of the original Cookie, the KP500, which proved a popular choice of phone thanks to its friendly features and small price, the LG T300 Cookie comes with a Cartoon UI. In keeping with its cute design, the interface promises an interactive and fun experience.

The frame of the T300 Cookie comes in various colours and you can choose between black and red, white and orange, black and silver, and pink and white.

The screen is naturally resistive so requires a certain amount of pressure to register your presses. But this is fairly standard on a phone of this calibre – it’s competing with the likes of the Samsung Champ, for example. And the T300, T310 and T320 are the first Cookies to feature full touchscreens with onscreen QWERTY keyboards.

Specifications

According to LG, the LG T300 Cookie is aimed at the “Generation Z” of mobile phone users who value friendly features and style together with a small cost. Everything you need to stay connected can be found on the T300, albeit at the lower end of the quality scale. Social networking integration is naturally a must for the target audience, and so this Cookie lets you interact online using popular sites like Facebook and Twitter, wherever you go.

When it comes to communication, you also have the choice to email, text or multimedia messages, as well as email. And the battery on the LG T300 Cookie supports up to 8 hours worth of talk time, so you needn’t feel restricted when using this phone.

For entertainment, games are pre-installed on the T300. You can listen to music too using the MP3 player or FM radio, depending on your preference. Adding music can be done via the Bluetooth connectivity or microUSB option, and the internal memory can reach up to 4GB when you use a microSD card. There is also a 3.5mm audio jack for plugging in your personal earphones.

Considerations

The LG T300 Cookie comes with no support for 3G or Wi-Fi.

Verdict

If you’re looking for a messaging-oriented phone with a touchscreen and friendly features combined with a small price tag, you should consider the LG T300 Cookie. The design is modern and the frame is light and compact, letting you make the most of mobile communication.
