The EX128 was released alongside the Motorola EX115 and both handsets offer affordable features and most noticeably come with dual SIM functionality. This means that they can be essentially used as two mobile phones in one, which is an ideal feature for people who may carry a work and personal phone as it will cut down on weight.
While the EX115 adopted a BlackBerry style QWERTY design the EX128 has taken the touchscreen format. The 3.2" WVGA screen on the EX128 offers a better visual experience than the EX115 but is not quite as visually impressive as high end Super AMOLED and Super LCD screens. For the EX128´s price bracket however, it certainly delivers a lot in terms of showing off the interface. The screen runs on capacitive technology providing a high degree of responsiveness and still has a high enough colour depth to be pleasing to the eye.
The EX128 comes with a 3 megapixel camera which is great for everyday photography but lacks many additional features such as a flash and does not come with video support. There is a great little media player also on board, which you can use to listen to music or watch videos and it comes with great playback support. Alternatively you can listen to the latest music over the FM radio. Mp3 files can also be used as ringtones to complement the polyphonic ringtones included.
The EX128 is a great phone for taking abroad with quad band GSM support, and other connectivity options available include GPRS, EDGE and Bluetooth. You can use the EX128 to browse the web while you are bored but unfortunately the Motorola EX128 does not come with Wi-Fi or 3G support, and so web browsing is limited to GPRS and EDGE connections.
The EX128 is not as crammed full of features as some top of the line touchscreen phones but still comes with a bright and responsive screen and excellent media player on board. It is also one of the few phones, and certainly touchscreen phones, to come with dual SIM technology providing you with two phones in one device. Even ignoring this fact the Motorola EX128 is an excellent touchscreen device for phone users on a budget and would be a great handset to choose to dip your toes into the world of touch sensitivity.
