Motorola Milestone 2 deals on contract
The Motorola Milestone 2 is a new and updated sequel to the highly popular Milestone. Known in the US as the Droid, the Milestone was a huge success that pushed Motorola back to the front of the mobile phone industry where they rightfully belong. The Milestone 2 follows the same recipe for success as the original while at the same time throwing much more into the mix.
Running on Google Android the Milestone 2 features the same Motoblur interface as the original Milestone. Motoblur was one of the first interfaces to attempt full scale social networking integration, an idea that was so smart it has been copied by just about every manufacturer on the market. Information from networks like Facebook and Twitter is pooled from online and displayed on the homescreen or within your contacts list. This provides you with much simpler and quicker access to contact your friends in a wide variety of manners.
The new Milestone has seen an update of its OS to the latest Android 2.2. This provides much greater functionality over the earlier version of the Google OS on the original Milestone. Other improvements include a better camera and improved processor. The Milestone now also comes with graphics acceleration for games and apps thanks to the PowerVR graphics acceleration chip. The processor has been updated from a sluggish 600MHz to a nippy 1GHz, with noticeable improvements when operating the phone.

The camera now includes HD video recording that was not present on the US Droid version of the phone. 8GB of storage space is available internally for music and videos and an extra 32GB can be provided through the use of microSD cards. The Milestone 2 comes with an 8GB microSD card included.
The media player supports an extensive range of music formats and you can also stream video from online content providers like YouTube. The Milestone is an excellent phone for web browsing, with 3G and Wi-Fi support at hand, and comes with threaded SMS viewing and access to Android Market where you can find an extensive range of apps for just about every purpose.
For writing out messages to your friends, updating your online status or sending out an email the Milestone is a great phone to have to hand. The QWERTY keyboard that made the original so popular is still present and makes typing messages much easier than a standard or touchscreen-only phone.
The Milestone 2 has a lot in common with the original Milestone and perhaps does not offer much to owners of the original, but is certainly an excellent choice regardless. The OS upgrade and speedier hardware can certainly be felt, and with enough entertainment value the QWERTY keyboard this would be a good phone to consider for all the tech savvy phone users around.
