Nokia 2710 Navigation Edition deals

Who says GPS SatNav features are reserved only in expensive high end smartphones phone? Not anymore, since Nokia made it available on the N95, the feature has trickled down to increasingly affordable handsets, starting with a mid-priced Nokia 6210 and now finds its presence even in budget handsets carrying the Navigation Edition signature from Nokia. Its Nokia 2710 Navigation Edition is one entry level dumb phone that has a GPS.

The SatNav functionality starts with a built-in GPS receiver with A-GPS support, a digital compass and preloaded with Nokia Maps 2.1 with a free lifetime SatNav license and is capable of voiced turn-by-turn navigational guidance.

It even comes with car mount and car charger accessories in its retail kit. Apart from its SatNav features, the 2710 gets all the right features to make it another competent entry level mobile phone in the traditional candybar form factor.
  • True to being a budget handset, there’s no 3G or WiFi. The Nokia 2710 is just a quad band GSM (850/900/1800/1900) with class 32 GPRS and class 10 EDGE data connectivity speeds up to 236.8 Kbps on 2G.    High Speed local data connectivity gets Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR for wireless data synching with other Bluetooth devices up to 3 Mbps and a microUSB 2.0 for wired option for up to 57 Mbps.
  • With a compact body weighing a light 87g and measuring 111.2 x 45.7 x 13.7 mm, you get a 2.2” QVGA TFT LCD display with 256k colors. The Nokia 2710 Navigation Edition comes with a 2 megapixel fixed focus snapper with self timer and 4x digital Zoom. It does QVGA video recording at 15fps.
  • Its media players support the audio files in the MP3/WAV/eAAC+/WMA file formats and video files in the MP4/H.263/H.264/WMV file formats. It also gets a stereo FM radio with RDS that allows you easy identification of song titles on the radio. Stereo listening comes from a 3.5mm headphone jack for standard high fidelity headphones or from its A2DP profile support using wireless Bluetooth stereo earphones.
  • Onboard storage is topped at a decent 60 MB with a phonebook capacity of up to 1,000 contact entries. But you can have your multimedia files stored in a microSD that is supported for up to 16 GB of external memory expansion.
