Preview Summary:Nokia 5530 XpressMusic 4

As you might guess from the name, the Nokia 5530 XpressMusic is a phone for those who love music and want to take it everywhere they go. Since the 5800, Nokia have trimmed the fat and made the 5530 an altogether slimmer, more functional handset.

With memory expandable up to 16GB, excellent wi-fi connectivity and a typically wonderful user interface, the 5530 XpressMusic is one of the best music phones available.

Overall

A fantastic update to the 5800, Nokia´s flagship music device. The 5530 has been trimmed of certain features and specs Nokia has deemed inessential, and the result is a slimmer, better looking and less clunky phone we think is an absolute winner.

Look and Design

Thanks to the jettisoning of certain features and a slight reduction in screen size (although the quality has been upped, increasing the brightness and sharpness), the whole packge is substantially smaller and thinner than the 5800. It´s also been given a material overhaul, losing the slightly too-plasticky look and feel of the previous handset.

The newly redesigned homescreen and contacts bar also add to the increase in slickness, with the drag-to-scroll carousel feature especially impressive

Conclusion

If you love using your phone to carry around and listen to your music, there´s probably no better choice out there for you. The 5530 is a fantastic update to an already great product. And did we mention that it´s launching at a far lower price than the 5800 did? Well, we just did! So go grab yourself a bargain.

If you think that kinetic scrolling is not important, then you have certainly missed out. Kinetic scrolling saves plenty of time and finger strokes when you have to navigate fast and efficiently. Instead of having to drag a finger on the touch screen dozens of times just to get to a very specific lo...
